o Wear an updated watch

o Flat front trousers, NO exception

o Nice leather shoes, NO rubber soles

o Choose a two-button jacket, button only the top button

o Wear a skinnier tie, should be proportionate with your body

o Choose a solid suit in navy, charcoal, or gray- black can be harsh and

pinstripes (unless done correctly) will appear dated

Interviewing “Younger” Hot Tips for Men

Men have to work harder to incorporate clothing trends into their looks, that means updated and current

clothing pieces are twice as important.

o Colored pump, ankle trouser, textured sheath dress

o Carry a season appropriate tote, not a briefcase

o No nude hose- Legs are appropriate at work

o Wear a statement necklace instead of matchy fine jewelry

Key Points and Questions

• Use the eye of an objective outsider.

• Don’t have someone? Use a camera.

• Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

• Proper fit is key- we do not articulate our brand when out

clothing fits improperly.

• Your next opportunity can be at the laundry mat, park, or

coffee shop… dress for 100% of your life, you are always

“going somewhere.”
