Why this project?
If we wait for poverty elimination to eliminate the curse of child labour
we may end up in not achieving both these objectives.

Multi dimensional approach
This focus tilts the attention from our current emphasis on
`Enforcement of Labour Laws' and `Poverty based approach’
to `Family, Community and School based approach'.
This multi dimensional approach is expected to yield more results.

Lessons Family as a basic unit of intervention It is not poverty of possessions but
poverty of mind, sense, emotion and love.
The future can be still saved if only we all become responsible.
For this let us be child like. Power within you can transform a
dormant system

Theme 3- Promote gender equality and women’s empowerment Cross cutting issue Reflected in all programmes, KKF-Family members are focused through divergent programmes. The
project aims at Women, Children, Youth and the general population through various independent initiatives. But in total all these initiatives have focused on strengthening the Family as a unit.
The overall well being of women regarding their empowerment was assessed Improved Confidence Reduced violence at home Ability to voice concerns at Grama Sabha Communication skills Reduced alcohol consumption by husband Ability to put my / group’s concerns in the
micro-plan A sense of security Increased role in decision making

There are sufficient examples of behavior change: Children are in school now. Earlier Children
go around ending up in child labour. Now this scene has changed.
Women have started taking active role in social and community level programmes.
Women in the project areas have become neat and hygiene conscious.
Men have started appreciating the constructive role that women can play in the community.
