Training Opportunities Drama Education We offer 8-week courses in all aspects of theatre arts every fall and spring for ages 5 to adult. In the summer, there’s a comprehensive five week summer camp consisting of one-week sessions, and collaborations with other arts groups. Acting, set design, musical theatre, improv, dance, auditioning, stage combat, and creative dramatics are some of the topics covered. Baby Theatre Create a lifelong love of theatre by starting when children are very young. A residency with Storyhound Theatre, a program for ages 0-18 months and 18 months-3 years. Children will love this interactive sensory theatre experience. Shows scheduled in January, March, and May. All Abilities Actors’ Legion (AAAL) An inclusive theatre program for actors of all abilities. The Legion will meet every Tuesday starting Aug. 28 to Dec. 11, from 7-9 pm, culminating in a performance Dec. 14, 15 & 16. Have an awesome time every week, creating a performance collaboration. Hyers Theatre Book a Touring Show: Dear Math by Jenny Hoppins Following our successful touring show of King Midas last year, we have a new offering for school age children. Math can be fun? When two friends join forces to tackle math anxiety, they encounter a mystical guide and embark on a mysterious exploration. A beautiful combination of math and theatre that has lots of audience participation, and will leave children laughing and learning. Reasonably priced. Inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen tale. Mama Duck is puzzled by one Duckling’s size and looks. The barnyard concludes the eggs were mixed up. The “duckling” sets o� to � nd out who she is. Junie B. Jones, Jr. The Musical is a delightful adaptation of four of Barbara Park’s best-selling books, brought to life in a genuinely comical musical. It’s Junie B.’s � rst day of � rst grade. Friendships abruptly change, and challenges arise. Life will never be the same. It’s a terri� c show for the whole family.Auditions: Feb. 15, 5-6:30 pm and Feb. 16, 1-2:30 pm • Stephen D. One of our best educational programs of the year. A series of short children’s plays directed by college students and high school juniors and seniors who are studying theatre. Hamlet mourns both his father’s death and his mother’s remarriage to his uncle. The ghost of his father tells him he was poisoned. Hamlet swears revenge, and the intrigue begins.
