Staring by showing the time. This builds enigma, because by showing the time, the director wants you to see how the action happens, and what time it is.

Showing a daily routine of his life, e.g. Brushing teeth, going toilet etc. This builds enigma because it shows everything as it should.

This connects to our opening sequence, because it shows a day of Melane’s life, and how it happens, because she goes shopping, also because she is going to go toilet.

Ending the opening sequence with a shot that builds enigma.For example making the shot be mysterious.

This links to our opening sequence because we have an enigmatic ending, by using a scene when the girl is on the bridge. (Long shot)

This build enigma, by showing a young girl walking on the street by herself, because no one knows where she is going.

In our opening sequence we have some shots, of the main actress walking on her way in central, by herself. Also we have long shots of her walking. Also it shows that the girl is isolated, because from a busy road, she will go into a alley way. This shows she is isolated.

Extreme Close up shot of her eyes build enigma, because it gives detail of her eyes.

We also have extreme close up shots in our opening sequence. When her mascara runs off while crying. Shows emotions.

Transitions- it build enigma because it gets from a scene to another scene, which makes the audience think what will happen between the 2 scenes.

We are using transitions in our opening sequence, to make the audience think what has happened between the 2 scenes.

Whole film Review Part K

• Main actor being a Model, but she gets to much pressure in her work place.

So the girl feels like she is fat when she is actually skinny but she think she doesn’t get enough modelling audition because she is too fat• One day when she is walking home from shopping, she really feels

down, for her to get happy she buys loads of things but at the end she just throws them away because she doesn’t need them even though she spend 1000 pound on them.

• She gets to a bridge she is looking down and thinking about ending her life, because if she does that she knows no one will ever notice her death.

• She meets a guy there and he tries to tell her not to jump off he says he can help her because he is a physiotherapist.

• She goes to one of his appointments and it changes her whole life, he helps her get through loads of things.

• At the end they fell in love and she goes back to hey modelling career.

Opening Sequence Part K

Melane is walking home from oxford street after shopping. She is wearing ‘model looking Clothes, she is feeling down , depressed and its not confident.

While she is walking home 1 Flashback happens (Photo-shoot) - Photographer being aggressive, telling her off how she is fat and not good enough for the career of modeling.

It goes back to walking (reality) - carrying on walking looking down as she is sad.

2 Flashback happens - Binging eating and vomiting

It goes back to walking ( reality) - carrying on walking crying.

3 Flashback happens - Looking at her self in the mirror unhappy, seeing her self fat yet she is really skinny, touching her belly trying to make her self slimmer

It goes back to walking (reality) - carrying on walking carrying and throwing away clothes/materials on the street floor.

finishes with her self on the edge of the bridge.

How we are applying

Flashback Shows the character walking, and remembering what happened to her. For this we will use close up shots , and transitions, to make it show that it is a flashback. By this we will give information to our audience, about what happened to the character before.

Flash forward There is not flash forward in our opening sequence, because the story line is happening in the present and we don't want to give away what will it happen in the future with her
