1. Lucjan Kozielski – Biographical Data
1962 – born in Mikołów (Poland), married (1989), 1 child 1981-1987 SILESIAN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, Gliwice, Poland 1987 – M.Sc. in Electric Engineering Specialty: Energy Conversion and Operational Use, Silesian Technical University, Gliwice, Poland 1988 – 1990 industrial practice in “Energoprojekt” Katowice and Gdańsk, in which was assisted in designing the first Atomic Power Plant in Poland in Żarnowiec (North of Poland) from 1990 – Technical Assistant and later Senior Resaercher in Electroceramics and Micromechatronics Division at the Institute of Technology and Mechatronics, University of Silesia, Sosnowiec Żytnia 12, Poland 1994 – 1998 German language course finshed with passing the “ZDaF (Certificate: German as a foreign language) - Goethe Institut” 1998 – 2003 English language course finshed with passing the First Certificate in English FCE 2007 – Ph.D. thesis: “Technology of gradient piezoelectric ceramic-based solid solution of PZT type for energy transducers applications” (Otrzymywanie gradientowej ceramiki piezoelektrycznej na bazie roztworu stałego typu PZT do zastosowań w przetwornikach energii). Thesis was awarded by Scientific Council of the Department of Informatics and Material Science, University of Silesia. The thesis provided interdisciplinary approach to graded structure phenomena, that allows an efficiency increase of piezoelectric transformer, based on the artificial graded connection of piezoelectric input and output part from the highest performance materials specific for each part separately. It was concluded, that increased energy transfer in such graded construction of piezoelectric transformer is due to synergy of higher transformation coefficients of the both parts of this specific device. Such a case is not possible in monolithic piezoelectric ceramics, in which optimisation can be targeted only for one part of transformer. 2007 (1 March - 15 September) – Postdoc position in the Nordic Hysitron Laboratory,
Department of Materials Science, Helsinki University of Technology in Finland. In frame of Finish - Japanese project founded by Finland Academy of Science, were conducted Nano indentation deformation and Atomic Force Microscopy Piezoresponse Mode (PFM) investigations of lead free piezoelectric materials supervised by professor Wataru Sakamoto from Nagoya University and doctor Shijo Nagao from Osaka University. 2008 (26-29 May) – improving the PFM investigations competence for piezoelectric materials during organized by professor Nava Setter „2nd International Piezoresponse Force Microscopy Workshop”, EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland. 2008 (26-27 June) – improving the AFM competence during Scanning and Short Response Microscopy School in Centre for Nanometer-scale Science and Advanced Materials (NANOSAM); Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland.
