Seroepidemiological study of RVF virus among abattoir worker in

Saudi Arabia.

April-July 2004 Medical Technologist, Diagnostic Virology including class-III

molecular Virology Unit, King Fahad Medical Research Centre,

King Abdulaziz University, KSA. I was involved in different

techniques such as applications of PCR, restriction enzyme

and gel electrophoresis, performing of different extraction

tests for DNA and RNA for viruses, isolation of different

viruses, CPE detection, inoculation of viruses into culture,

further investigation for detection of different types of viruses

such as: Haem-agglutination test, ELISA and Haem-adsorption

test. I was also involved in a research project entitled:

Detection of the most dominant strains of influenza virus in Saudi

populations in affiliation with WHO.

karyotyping.

Tissue Engineering and fabrication of electrochemical sensors.

Fabrication of DNA-Aptamer based biosensors.

Characterisation and optimisation of Ames assay (Salmonella Mutagenicity Assay)

for mutagenicity and carcinogenicity assessment of medical samples.

Use and operation of different analytical chemistry instruments such as flame

atomic absorption spectrophotometer, HPLC and UV/Vis spectrophotometer.

Characterisation, development and optimisation of several bioluminescence SOS-

lux based microbial biosensors for mutagenicity and carcinogenicity assessment

of human health risk assessment.

Development and optimisation of in vitro gastrointestinal bioassay for organic and

inorganic carcinogens to simulate the different oral exposure scenarios for

children, based on human physiology.

Good experience in tissue culture, isolation of different viruses, CPE detection,

inoculation of viruses into culture, further investigation for detection of different

types of viruses such as: Haem-agglutination test, Haem-agglutination inhibition,

IFT, ELISA, and Haem-adsorption test.

Sufficient experience in the use and the operation of Polymerase Chain

Reaction (PCR), Gene Cloning, Restriction Enzyme, DNA and RNA extractions

and Gel Electrophoresis by using both polyacralmyied and Agarose gel.
