Transition 2020 – Meet the AHT - SENDCo Dr C. Lear Assistant Headteacher, SENDCo, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Teacher of Chemistry My role is to work across our school Trust to ensure that we work together to offer everyone the support they need, as and when they need it. I am based in the Egglescliffe school site. Introduction from Dr Lear I am delighted to welcome you to Egglescliffe school and introduce you to the wonderful Endeavour support team we have at school. We have Teaching Assistants and Mentors as part of our team who are always there to help you either in lessons, at social times or before and after school. You never need to feel anxious or nervous as there is always someone here to help you. Myself and my team will be calling you all to have a little chat and introduce ourselves so you can learn about us, ask questions and we can learn about what helps you. We are looking forward to speaking with you and our parents/carers in the next few weeks. I will also be sending you a letter and a little ‘fun’ activity that we would like you to read and complete. I am looking forward to meeting you all when you join us at Egglescliffe and hope you have a lovely Summer break when it arrives. What are your interests? Can you tell us anything else about yourself? My interests are of course … my Chemistry Experiments as we learn about the connections between Chemistry and ‘life’. I enjoy jogging and have completed the Great North Run several times. Last time I did it to raise money for Daisy Chain. I also try to complete the Race for Life every year. I also enjoy listening to music performances, gardening, walking, visiting national parklands, listening to Michael Bublé, going to his concerts and visits to the theatre to see musicals. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work as part of a foundation leadership team to set up a brand-new school in the Middle East. When I first joined, they had just started to build it and it was amazing to be able to watch a school being built and be a part of this project as well as experiencing life working in education internationally. Another fact about me is that two of my favourite treats are … coffee and Cadbury’s chocolate.

Transition 2020 – Meet the AHT - SENDCo

Dr C. Lear Assistant Headteacher, SENDCo, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Teacher of Chemistry My role is to work across our school Trust to ensure that we work together to offer everyone the support they need, as and when they need it. I am based in the Egglescliffe school site.

Introduction from Dr Lear

I am delighted to welcome you to Egglescliffe school and introduce you to the wonderful Endeavour support team we have at school.

Transition 2020 – Your Endeavour Suite

Where is Endeavour?

Welcome to our Endeavour Building where you can find our support base as well as some teaching classrooms. The doors are always open with staff to welcome and support you. Did you see us on the website video? Staff are there from 8. 30 am until 4 pm. Dr Lear is usually there much longer than that as this is where her office is located

What’s it like inside?

Inside the Endeavour ‘spaceship’ is a warm and inviting place where the support team are located to help you. We also offer enrichment activities here and a safe place to be at break and lunchtimes for some students who maybe just want to read, do Lego, join one of our lunchtime activities, do home learning or talk to us about something. We are planning new and exciting enrichment activities for September!

Miss V. Grief Teaching Assistant - EMS I am very proud to say I work in the EMS unit based between Junction Farm and Egglescliffe. I am proud because this role allows me to work with amazing, hard-working students who I see grow, develop and become confident and flourish - everyday! My speciality is working closely with children on a 1:1 basis and also with children with SEN. A huge interest and focus in my life is nature and birds! I am constantly out with my binoculars and camera! It allows me to keep fit, get fresh air and travel around my local area finding something new every day. I am looking forward to welcoming every student back to school and hearing all the stories and memories you have built over the last months. Not only that, but also hearing your laughter and happiness fill the school once again and bring it back to how it once was - a caring, safe and fun place to learn and grow. Any help, advice or just a chat that would help on our return - then we are all here to help - any way we can!
