All entrances and exits must be clear of snow for easy access. When clearing your parking areas, please do not pile snow in front of the dumpster enclosures or any entrances or drive exits. Shoppers may avoid your business if an icy sidewalk restricts their safety. Ionia Community Awards 2020 The Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Community Awards celebration on Saturday, January 25th with a Roaring 20’s theme. Hats off to Kat and her amazing team who were behind the scenes working to make the evening a success. The Ionia DDA would like to congratulate the 2020 Community Award recipients. Citizen of the Year: Heather Sizemore Ionia County Above and Beyond: Steve Slaughter Chamber Member of the Year: West Michigan Works in Ionia County Ionia Business Woman of the Year: Linda Curtis Community Impact Award: Ionia Community Awareness Ionia County Under 40: Karlee Bailey, Judy Clark, Ally Cook, Andrew Mourer Business Milestones: Ionia Community Awareness, Enrich of Ionia County Business Milestones: Astera Credit Union, Sterner Veterinary Service The 365 Awards: Benchside, Brick Street Marketplace, Crafty Kitchen Creations, Long Lake Market Elvis on the Bricks Set for Thursday, February 13th Don’t let the colder mid-winter temperatures keep you from visiting historic downtown Ionia on Thursday, February 13th from 5pm to 8pm. Elvis tribute artist, Jake Slater will be making scheduled visits to several downtown businesses including The Jewel Box, Ionia Lock & Key, Brick Street Studio, Cook’s Creamery and Confections, Cantwell’s Training Center, Farmhouse Naturals Gift Shop, Mane Stage Salon, YCD Electronics, and Izzy’z Barber Shop. While strolling down Main Street, don’t miss the Elvis themed business window displays courtesy of Linda Ciangi. Each will “tell a story” of the legendary artist. Jake will be making a special appearance at the Lamplight Grill from 7pm - 8pm. Enjoy a great meal while listening to Jake as sings a few of the King’s favorite hits.
