Double page spread photo manipulation and editing

Page 2: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here I zoomed in using the navigator bar to Will’s face in order to use the spot healing brush to remove any spots or imperfections on his face

This would make his skin look more clear and appealing to people

Page 3: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here is lowered and the brightness and lowered the contrast. This is because I wanted the image to look more ‘grungey’ and ‘dark’ looking to apply more the rock genre of my magazine rather than too light and bright which may seem more ‘poppy’I also thought this would make the image more easy to look at so that it

doesn’t seem blindingly bright due to the sunlight at the top of the photograph

Page 4: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here’s the second image that will be on my double page spread

Page 5: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here is was suing the spot healing brush and zooming into both models faces in order the smooth out and spots or imperfections of red tones on their skins and faces

Page 6: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here I lowered the contrast and the brightness again to give my image a more ‘grunge’ and ‘rock’ look by being much more dark and not to light and ‘positive’ looking. This gave a moody aspect to the image too

Page 7: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here is the third image that will be on my double page spread

Page 8: Double page spread photo maipulation

I used the red eye removal tool here as you can see on wills eye’s as the flash of the camera and lighting of the room had made his eye’s go quite red and this would not look good on a professional magazine so I decided to make them black

Page 9: Double page spread photo maipulation

I had been using the spot healing brush here to again remove any blemishes/spots and red tones to my models faces in order to make their skin look more ‘clear’ and professional looking

Page 10: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here I ‘auto toned’ the image in order to let the photshop software to tone the colours in the image to what looks best as it was quite bleached due to me having to use flash in this dark studio room

Page 11: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here I lowered the contrast a lot and also the brightness. I felt by doing this it made the image have a more ‘greyscale’ tone to it and was therefore less bright and make the models skin less bleached. It also gave again a more of a ‘grunge’ look to the image

Page 12: Double page spread photo maipulation

Here I was using the sharpen tool in order to make parts of the image stand out more such as Dans (to the right) face as he is the lead singer

On the previous slide you can see that I adjusted the colours in my image. I made one colour level more towards ‘cyan’ rather than red as I did definitely not want over red colours in my image as that would look like a bad quality image and I felt the cyan blood evened out some of the yellow colours from the flash brightness of the image and also made it look more of a ‘cool’ colour and also a little darken which it what I wanted. I also moved the colour level away from the yellow and more towards blue and I felt the yellow colour was too bright and bleached my models skins too much.
