Resume MATEO CROSSA NIELL He was born in Mexico City on June 14,1986. He has a degree in Social Psychology from the Autonomous Metropolitan University and is currently completing a Master’s Degree in the Graduate Program in Latin American Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His career is characterized by the accompaniment of vulnerable groups and social sectors throughout Latin America, particularly, in Mexico and Central America. He has wide experience in research on human rights and labor issues, which is why he has performed academic field work and collaborated with several institutions and associations that contribute to the political and economic empowerment of civil society. OPUS SOCIAL MEDIA Opus Social Media is a space of collaborative meeting. In it, the will to work and the spirit of service are added to the creativity of a transdisciplinary group that seeks to transcend the value of the human aspect, in the social projects in which it participates. With 5 years working along the democratization of the media, they move with the concern of accompanying construction processes in favor of a more fair, equitable and solidary society through video, photo and design. It complements it’s photographic and audiovisual work with the support and experience of Opus Comunicación Integral S. de R.L. de C.V., producing company with 10 years of existence.

Synopsis: In the harsh world of exploitation in which thousands of workers are subjected to everyday as employees, there are exemplary stories of people walking upstream. This happens in the maquila industry in Honduras, where workers are increasingly finding more reasons to raise their voices for the desire of a dignified job and a decent life. Made in Honduras is the common testimony of women maquila workers that does not only show the dark reality that revolves around these factories, but gathers the voices they found with their organization on the way to transform the situation around them. Made in Honduras, a film about women maquila workers in their struggle, resistance and organization.

Topic: In Honduras, there are 120 thousand workers employed in the maquiladora industry. The precarious working conditions, high levels of labor intensity and chronic violation of human rights at work, have been the main causes for the emergence of several types of trade union organizations and civil associations, that struggle every day to improve working conditions. In this issue, the role of women has been fundamental. Made in Honduras is a documentary film project, whose aim is to make the broad spectrum of women workers' organizations in the maquila visible; demythologizing and proposing the same organization, as an alternative to mitigate the harmful effects for the workers of this form of manufacturing. This documentary pretends to be material that shows a reinterpretación of the subject and sensitize to the importance of the organization. A second objective is to make visible and inform, about these issues to the consumers of products made in a maquila. The documentary consists of two parts: The first part shows the working conditions within the maquiladora factories. Topics such as extensive work days, high production goals, flexible 4 x 4 days, health problems, and anti-unionism of maquila entrepreneurs, are explained. The second part portrays the world of the organization of maquila workers, from its beginnings to the present day. Through certain cases of organization, they make visible strategies, challenges and processes, in defense of the labor rights that belong to them.
