• The Concept of « Train of the Future » has no meaning!

• High technical skills of the customers : Detailed Technical Specifications;

to pay minimum price : most customers are State or Authorities who get they budget from taxes!

• Difficult to introduce innovation : cost, safety, reliability and long warranty; CONSERVATISM!

• Annual turn-over of the Industry severalorders of magnitude less than the turn-overs of Automotive and Aeronauticindustries;

What TO DO!

• Try to bring in the final user ASAP so that

your development becomes HIS! Careful

about the « NOT IN HOUSE SYNDROM »!

Could be Standardization Body.

• Setting up of a « user » Group so that

potential parties be exposed to the Project.

• Do Economic Analysis : the issue is most of

the time THERE!

• It does not always work : it is … rare! Even greatguys (S. Jobs) came up with Inventions that were a DISASTER (for their company!).

Remember what Horizon2020 is requesting : makingyour best efforts.

• Don’t be « arrogant » although you must pursue your quest!

• Think that developing the idea and having a labproto working is enough : yes it is a FIRST stepbut Industrialisation at a market price isANOTHER issue.
