    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    As the lead for occupational therapy services within the Local Authority, I feel it is important to ensure AHPs across Health and Social Care have increased awareness of the various services we work in and our service priorities.The importance of AHPs is being increasingly recognised and we need to work collaboratively to ensure we are effectively communicating the value of our work in delivering personal, creative and cost-effective services.The AHP Council will be a valuable resource as we work towards a home first offer across Dorset and transform how services are delivered across the system.

    To have a real understanding of our roles and how we can ensure the services we provide are better aligned.To have a county wide forum to promote the work we do and the value it brings to both the residents of Dorset and our organisations.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    I want to work with colleagues in Dorset to develop and deliver an AHP strategy that focuses on the Dorset ICS; ensuring prevention of care, integration of services, ensuring digital health is a key enabler and to support a workforce of the future. I recognise that as part of this council I will be able to work collaboratively to influence the education of graduates and therefore the future workforce.

    Engage with local and national stakeholders to promote the potential of AHPs in ICS Dorset and beyond.Ensure there are opportunities for AHPs to develop their careers and engage in advanced practice and leadership roles.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    To push the agenda forward for the smaller AHP to be able to partake in advanced practice and highlight roles appropriate for smaller professions.Raise the profile of AHPs at local level and ensure AHPs have opportunity to sit around the table when strategic decisions are made.

    To integrate services where appropriate, and provide seamless equitable and value for money care for the citizens of Dorset with the most appropriate health care professional.Allow opportunities for progression and growth for health care professionals working in Dorset.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    I am really passionate and committed to bringing health and care professionals together across teams, services and organisations to focus on enhancing patient-centred care and improving outcomes.Dorset AHP Council gives a fantastic opportunity to bring a range of experience, skills, leadership and new models of care and integration across Dorset.

    I am highly committed to delivering integrated care that extends beyond one organisation and across many different professions. I would feel privileged to support the AHP Council to fulfil the ambition for the Our Dorset ICS in supporting the recognition and expertise that AHP roles can bring to health and social care, continuing to move away from traditional ways of working and reliance on medical models that are struggling to keep at pace with the demands of our local population across Dorset.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    Increase the profile of palliative care and charity working with AHPs in Dorset.Closer working and improved communication with AHPs working within other organisations and NHS sector, as we are not always aware of commissioning of wider services or changes within these services.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    To ensure that the value AHPs can add to the health and social care environment is both recognised and maximised.

    Reduce variations in care and optimise outcomes for the residents of Dorset.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    Being part of the council gives its members the knowledge to have those influential conversations within our organisations and professions to develop and align our roles to be able to facilitate change for AHPs working in health and social care.It allows us the opportunity to discuss good practice across Dorset and nationally, helping us to link our organisations and professions to allow us to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

    To promote the roles of AHPs within the healthcare workforce.To make Dorset a place that AHPs want to work, where there are opportunities to develop within those roles enabling retention and helping with recruitment.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?

    The AHP council is a great opportunity to learn about the national agenda for AHPs. It’s also a fantastic way to meet leads from other professions, learn and get involved at a strategic level.I can then take that learning back to my organisation and influence AHPs to change and evolve. It’s empowered me to promote to trust leads the skills and opportunities that AHPs can bring to the NHS workforce.

    My ambition for health and care services in Dorset is for our healthcare system to be a shared partnership between all professions including medics, AHPs, nurses and scientists. I would love to see many more AHPs working in advanced practice roles supporting services in both the community and acute settings & revolutionising our patient’s experience. I’m keen for stronger partnerships between our education providers and health care providers so that we can improve research opportunities for staff but also help students to get involved early on in direct patient experience and learning thought audit and research.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?It is an opportunity for strategic minded senior AHPs to help shape the future for AHPs in terms of opportunities and solutions to challenges being faced in Dorset, influencing health and care across the system.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?For AHPs to be seen as invaluable in all aspects of transformation and delivery of the health and care services improving the health and wellbeing of Dorset citizens.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?AHPs are overlooked – it’s mainly ‘doctors and nurses’ when the NHS is discussed. Without AHPs, the NHS would grind to a halt, and millions of peoples’ quality of life would suffer. We need to shout about what we do, especially the smaller AHPs, and tell people what we do, the effect it can have, and how we can keep people healthy and independent.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?Equity of access to high level services for ALL!

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?As a passionate AHP and collaborator, it is a pleasure and a privilege to work closely with highly experienced colleagues working in key roles across our group of professions.Through our collective efforts, we are able to work more strategically as a group and to strengthening the visibility and impact of, and opportunities for AHPs across Dorset.Excellent and accessible AHP services are key to supporting people across Dorset to live well and live longer.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?To provide person-centred health and care services which fully support the needs, aspirations and ambitions of its residents.To develop effective and successful models of care across the system which optimise the health, wellbeing and success of our health and care workforce.To support Dorset ICS as a nationally and internationally leading system for supporting excellent education, training and career development of AHPs.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?AHPs are as fundamental in patient care as nursing, but are often overlooked as a staff group. The commonalities of our roles are wide and we need to learn from each other to grow our professions and have a voice that is heard and respected.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?To provide an equality of care and opportunities for patients, staff and all service users. Ensuring that the standards are of the highest calibre and the service matches and surpasses expectations with an eye on the future.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?The investment in AHP roles for the development of primary care services means that the council will have a very useful role in communication and collaboration.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?Across the healthcare sectors and social sector as well, optimise the career opportunities and benefits to patient services and health outcomes and ensure timely and effective planning of future service delivery projects.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?AHPs play a very significant part in delivering local services. However organisational structures often have very limited representation and understanding of AHPs at board level.Being part of the AHP council for me is about giving AHPs a strong voice to be part of decision making, and representing our AHP colleagues at a strategic level.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?Integrated care focussed around the person and their carer. Great communication between services that traditionally are siloed including physical and mental health services.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?To gain an early awareness of key strategic changes under discussion within Dorset and to discuss with colleagues on the AHP council how best to influence the changing agenda.To capture the ideas and enthusiasm for new ways of working, looking beyond Dorset to national and international areas of good practice.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?For no sector of the Dorset health or social care system to financially benefit to the detriment of any other part of the system. To truly feel like one Dorset.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?I am really pleased to be part of the development of an AHP Council for Dorset and to see the introduction of a Lead AHP role for the Dorset ICS.I really think that the AHP voice needs to be stronger across the system and the AHP Council provides the opportunity for us to be clear about our vision, articulate the roles AHPs can provide across all parts of the ICS and encourage networking, sharing, and collectively raising the profile of AHPs working both operationally and in senior leadership roles.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?To offer patient-centred, personalised care and support for the population of Dorset – in the right place, at the right time by the right person. The care should be seamless and provide the same agreed outcomes regardless of where in the county an individual resides.In order to achieve the above, ensure a robust and resilient workforce is in place, working together on a shared vision.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?To raise the profile of AHPs and the contribution which OTs make within social care, for both adults and children.For the opportunity for greater, richer networking with a shared and collaborative purpose.To work more closely with other AHPs, to share knowledge, skills and opportunities, including best practice and research opportunities.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?For the opportunity to improve the person’s journey through health and care, considering a strength based approached, and to understand what matters most to people in supporting them to remain as independent as possible. Providing support in a timely manner, which is person centred, within a seamless service.

    Why do you think it’s important to be a part of the AHP Council?AHPs are stronger together and have much to learn from each other.I feel that by working together we can share our knowledge, skills and networks to support and nurture the next generation of AHPs and provide a united voice.

    What is your ambition for health and care services in Dorset?We need to empower patients by providing high quality, person centred, local services that have been commissioned with an understanding of the population needs.There should be a strong prevention agenda so that we move from reactive to providing proactive services including pre-rehabilitation.
