ACADEMICS SERVICES DORS Workforce & Technology Center ACADEMIC SERVICES The WTC Academic department provides tesng services for indi- viduals with disabilies to help them find their strengths and weak- nesses in reading, math, and wring skills, or to assess college- readiness. Assessment results can help consumers and their DORS counselors plan for training programs and employment. The Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) shows reading comprehension and math skills. The Test of Adult Basic Educaon (TABE) is an individual assess- ment that may be done for a specific post-secondary program. College assessment help consumers and DORS counselors make decisions about college as a vocational goal. The Pre-GED PROGRAM (General Educaon Development) pro- gram is for individuals with disabilies who need a high school di- ploma. Consumers who complete Pre-GED may go on to the GED program. General Educaon Development (GED) program is for individuals with disabilies who need a high school diploma for their employ- ment goals. All GED students take the GED test. Self-paced Academic Instrucon in reading and math is available to students enrolled in WTC training programs. Other academic instrucon services include: Learner’s permit instrucon. Study skills/math instrucon groups for Office Technology, Au- tomove, Food service, and warehouse training students. Reading/math skills instrucon for Work Readiness students. Virtual Assessment and Instrucon may be available, depending on consumer's access to required technology.
