OBJECTIVES 1. To make every individual feel the essence of being part of the family; a home away from

home experience. 2. To provide conducive environment for everybody to feel the essence of real home. 3. To produce responsible and well-discipline dormitory occupants. 4. To provide quality education through group study, independent review, and private

tutorials. 5. To provide approachable dormitory parents to attend to student’s queries, suggestions

and counseling. 6. To provide 24-hours security management for the safety of the students within the

dormitory community.

ARTICLE I

QUALIFICATIONS

1. He/she must be a bonafide student of Noblesse International School. 2. Must be in 4th Grade and above grade level. 3. ESL bonafide students can also stay in the dormitory. 4. He/she must have a good moral character. 5. He/she must be allowed by his/her parents/guardians to avail the privilege to enter the

dormitory. 6. He/she must agree with the rendered rules and regulations.

ARTICLE II

Admissions

1. The students should inform the NIS office regarding his/her application to occupy dormitory.

2. The Headmaster must approve his /her application. 3. The NIS representative will inform the dorm parents ahead of time for preparation of

room. 4. The dorm parent will make an “Endorsement Slip” to be forwarded to the NIS Office once

the students started stay in the dormitory. 5. The Copy of Endorsement Slip for the dorm parents should be returned not less than two

(2) days for filing and records. 6. The student status in the dormitory will be considered “VALID” provided that all

procedures were accomplished.

ARTICLE III

BILLING AND STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT 1. The NIS accountant is the one responsible to send an updated account to the dorm

parents about students’ billing statement every month to inform the students and student’s parents regarding their responsibilities.

2. If the student is not yet pay on the previous month balance of his/her occupancy, therefore, a report regarding this matter will send to the Managing Director for further evaluation and recommendation.

3. The NIS accountant should also send an updates regarding student allowance status every month so that the dorm parents have an idea and can anticipate student’s inquiries regarding their allowance and for easily issuance of allowance form to the student.

4. In case of insufficient account regarding allowance, the NIS accountant and the Headmaster will be responsible in the decision making on what to do for that particular problem and inform the dorm parents about the decision made.

ARTICLE IV

DORMITORY FEES

1. The dormitory fee includes the breakfast, lunch, dinner, electricity, water, internet &

cleaning service. 2. Money transaction regarding dormitory fees should be settled at the Noblesse

International School Accounting Office. 3. The fee is due on the arrival at Noblesse International School. 4. Fees will be deposited at the registration office. 5. There will be no refund for the students who leave during the last 15 days of the academic

year & the last 15 days of the summer school. 6. Refund will only apply if the student moves to another country or if the student is very ill. 7. During summer vacation (June to July), if the students will not stay, he/she must pack

his/her things. 8. If the student will not evacuate the room he/she is occupying, he/she must pay the

dormitory charge for the duration of summer vacation.

ARTICLE VI

Tutorial SERVICE

1. Students who wish to have a tutor can request from the school administration. 2. The tutorial fee deposit must be settled in advance by the student before the start of the

tutorial classes. 3. The schedule of the tutorial will depend on the agreement of the student & the tutor. 4. The Administration should inform the dorm parents who will be take in charge for a

particular student for tutorial lesson.

ARTICLE VII

Emergency cases 1. Student must immediately inform the dormitory superintendent or staff if there is an

emergency. 2. Student’s safety is the most priority of the dormitory staff, records of emergency contact

numbers will be post in every floor of the dormitory. 3. If during the day, the school nurse will monitor the condition of the students from time

to time to make sure that everything is going fine.

ARTICLE VIII

REQUIREMENTS

Students are required to bring the following upon staying in the dormitory:

1. Consent Letter from Parents/Guardians 2. Letter of Agreement signed by Both Parents/Guardians and student. 3. Personal Hygiene Kit as follow:

a. Toiletries, Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Shampoo b. Other Personal Hygiene things

ARTICLE IX

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

Section 1 : UPON ADMISSION Upon admission, the first day stay in would be materialized the following activities:

1. Orientation about the Dormitory Rules and Regulations 2. Securing Agreement Manual 3. Providing of Rules and Regulations of the Dormitory Handbook Manual 4. Signing of Endorsement Slip which latter will be forwarded at the NIS Office. 5. Demonstrating of all electronic facilities. 6. Walking around the dormitory premises including location of Cafeteria, Dorm Parents

Room, Drivers, Security Guard Station and other emergency area. 7. Discussing of Room Assignment and Other Obligations. Section 2: WEEKDAYS SCHEDULES (Mondays to Fridays) 6:00 – 6:30 am : Wake Up Call 6:30 – 7:00 am : Self Preparation 7:00 – 7:30 am : Breakfast Time 7:30 – 7:40 am : Going to School 7:45 – 3:15 pm : Regular School Time 3:30 – 5:00 pm : Extra- Curricular Activities 5:00 – 5:30 pm : Resting / Freshen up 5:30 – 6:30 pm : Dinner Time 7:00 – 9:00 pm : Study Time, self or group 9:00 – 10:00 pm : Snack Time/Play Time/Movie Time/ Free Time 10:00 pm : Turn off of all gadgets 10:30 pm : Sleeping Time, Lights Off except for Friday and Saturday. Section 3: WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS (Saturdays/ Sundays/Holidays) 9:00 – 10:00 am : Wake Up Time/ Breakfast Time 10: 30 – 11:30 am : Rest Time/ Free Time 12:00 – 01:00 pm : Lunch Time 01:00 – 04:00 pm : Malling (1st Trip)/ Free Time 04:00 – 7:00 pm : Free Time 5:30 – 6:00 pm : Dinner Time 7:00 – 9:00 pm : Resting/Assignments/Dorm Activity 9:00 – 10:00 pm : Snack Time/Free Time

10:00 – 10:30 pm : Turn off all gadgets 10:30 – 11:00 pm : Curfew Hour/ Lights Off

ARTICLE X

MEAL SCHEDULE The dormitory serves two meals during school day; Breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be served at the cafeteria. For weekends and holidays, the dormitory will serve all three meals. The students should follow the schedule of meals properly. The Schedules of Meals are as follow: 7:00 – 7:30 am : Breakfast during weekdays 9:00 am : Breakfast during weekends & Holidays 11:30 – 12:30 pm : Lunch Time 05:30 – 6:30 pm : Dinner Time * Attendance during meal is important to maintain the health of all students. * The dormitory always serves Fresh and Nutritious foods every day to guarantee the health of all students.

ARTICLE XI

MEAL PERMISSION 1. The student is not allowed to eat outside without permission from the dorm parent or if

out of the schedule, he/she must ask permission to the Headmaster through letter and submit copy to the dorm parent, most especially during weekdays.

2. He/she must ask permission first to the dorm parents/headmaster if he/she was invited by someone to eat meal outside the dormitory premises.

3. The student is allowed to eat outside, provided, that there is someone who will fetch her in the dormitory such as his/her friend’s parents during weekdays and approved by the dorm parents.

4. Inform the dorm parents if he/she is going to eat on a particular meal schedule so that the cafeteria will be informed.

5. Make sure that the student signed a “going –out form” always and notes the time when she/he went out and back in for evaluation and records.

6. Disapproved form is considered “Invalid” and must not go outside for meal.

ARTICLE XII

LATES AND ABSENCES

1. Student who is late from her/his classes should be reported by his respective teacher for demerit points.

2. Late from tutorial classes will be given a proper sanctions 3. Late from curfew compliance will be given demerit points. 4. Sleepiness in classes should also be reported by her/his teacher for demerit points. 5. Late from Meals are automatically will not be given special treatment to eat outside as

part of discipline. 6. Absent from classes without valid reason will leads for disciplinary action.

ARTICLE XIII

ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE 1. Good education is the number 1 priority of NIS dormitory, therefore every students

comply with the group study when it is really necessarily to avoid failing of grades. 2. If the students failed his/her subjects, internet surfing and playing of video games or other

free time activities will be suspended. 3. If the students finished all their works, they have to pick up a good book and do personal

reading. 4. Group study will be required every quarter exams from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. 5. Students who have received a C- D or F on their report card, and have problems in doing

home works should attend the group study every day.

ARTICLE XIV

Damages and liabilities 1. Students agree to be fully responsible & liable for any damages that may occur to the

dormitory property during their residency. 2. Both students of each damaged room will be equally responsible for the costs of repairs. 3. Students are also fully responsible for ensuring their own personal property against loss

due to fire or theft. 4. Students are strongly encouraged not to bring valuable things.

ARTICLE XV

RULES AND REGULATIONS Section 1 : SHOULD DO (DO’S) 1. Ask permission from the dorm parents before doing anything. 2. Secure “going-out form” when leaving the dormitory and school premises. 3. Always complete all information in the “going-out form.” Failure to do so will result in

demerit points. 4. Return the room key when going out. 5. Keep their room keys properly. In case of lost key, P200.00 will be charged for

replacement. 6. Have their cell phone in case of emergency and should inform the dorm parents about

their mobile number. 7. Visitors are allowed inside the dormitory but at the ground floor until 7:00 pm only. 8. Observe curfew hours (10:00 pm) to avoid penalties. 9. Be in bed by 10:30 pm and wake up by 6:30 am. 10. Sleep in his/her own room. 11. Obey the dorm parents at all times. 12. Respect one’s privacy. 13. Write their names on all their personal belongings. 14. Observe silence at all times. 15. English must be the language during study time and meal time. Own language is permitted

in other cases and outside meal and study times. 16. To study hard and do their school and dormitory obligations at all times. 17. Can use a common study table from 5:00 – 8:00 pm only, provided, that the dorm parents

are present. Extension of time depends on their workloads. 18. Attend meetings and gatherings of the dormitory. 19. Keep their money and valuable things properly. The management is not to be held liable

for any lost. 20. Keep their room clean and all must be in a proper place, even though cleaners clean every

day. 21. Should clean the dining table anytime they use it, and put all the utensils they used in the

kitchen’s sink. 22. Turn off the lights and air conditioner when not in use. 23. Turn off gadgets such as laptop, radio, iPod during curfew hours or time allotment given. 24. Conserve water and electricity as possible.

Section 1 : SHOULD NOT DO (DON’TS)

1. BOYS are not allowed to enter into the Girls dormitory and Vice Versa. 2. Do not disturb others during the study time.

3. Not play loud music and make noise at any time. 4. Not going out during weekdays, except for an emergency case. 5. Sleep Over to their friends is strictly prohibited, unless there’s an approval from the

parents. 6. No walking around beyond 10:00 pm outside dormitory boundaries. 7. Kissing or any malicious conduct. 8. Visitors cannot stay overnight in the dormitory, except for student’s parents, nonetheless,

they can stay until 7:00 pm only, or with parents’ permission. 9. Staying at friend’s home during weekends is subject for approval by the dorm parents. 10. Switching of bed and rooms are strictly prohibited. And should not do it without

permission from the dorm parents. 11. Do not move out room facilities without permission from the dorm parents. 12. Shoes and Slippers are not allowed to wear upstairs. 13. Students should refrain from calling during meal time and study hours. 14. Telephone conversations about non-academic issues during academic hours are not

allowed. 15. Each semester, students who are late or missed their breakfast meal will receive a verbal

warning. 16. Complaints about noisy individuals, obvious signs of exhaustions and reports from

teachers will result in demerit points. 17. Any forms of gambling that involves money are strictly prohibited. Not bring pets inside

the dormitory. 18. Drugs, Cigarette and Alcohol are strictly prohibited. 19. Not bring or keep cigarette in the dormitory. 20. Not quarrel, fight or be violent in any manner with each other. 21. Accumulation of fifteen (15) Demerit points will result in sending out of students from

dormitory premises and off- dormitory privileges.

ARTICLE XVI

PROCEDURES OF SECURING GOING – OUT AND GATE PASS FORM

1. Ask the dorm parents about the form. 2. The form for “going-out” and “gate pass” are attached together, therefore it should be

filled-out both when leaving. 3. Fill it out properly; put all necessary information indicated in the form. 4. Going out alone is not encouraged. If a student wishes to go out alone, the

superintendent will not be held responsible for any untoward incident that may happen. 5. Present it to the dorm parents for approval. 6. Signed form means “VALID” so therefore, it simply means “APPROVED”. 7. No signature from the dorm parents will invalidate the form and cannot be processed at

the main gate.

8. After answering all the asked information, tear off the “gate pass” form attached at the “going –out” form and bring back the “going-out” form to the dorm parents for filing.

9. Present the “gate pass” form to the security guard at the main gate for validation and execution.

10. Present it again when going back in the dormitory at the main gate to enter the school premises.

11. Make sure that the time written should be followed or else immediate penalty will be given.

ARTICLE XVII

Demerit rule 1. Violation Points will be accumulated during the period of stay in the dormitory per

semester. 2. Any student whose violation points amount to a total of 15 or more will be ordered to

withdraw from the dormitory & no longer be eligible for on-campus accommodation application.

3. A list of violations points will be recorded & updated by the dormitory superintendent. 4. Violation points will be back to zero each semester.

ARTICLE XVIII

Demerit points system Section 1: DEMERIT OF FIVE (5) POINTS:

1. Disturbing / Disrespect on the privacy of others 2. Transfer to other rooms without permission 3. Damaging Dormitory facilities and equipment 4. Kissing or doing malicious conduct. 5. Fighting inside dormitory premises. 6. Theft and violence in any manner 7. Signed her/his own going out form instead of the dorm parents.

Section 2: DEMERIT OF FOUR (4) POINTS:

1. Bring pets inside the dormitory. 2. Gambling and Swindling 3. Non-Securing of Dormitory forms i.e. going-out and allowance forms. 4. Non-Compliance related to room checking procedures 5. Non-Compliance to the administrative and dormitory superintendents.

Section 3: DEMERIT OF (3) POINTS:

1. Using of Gadgets after 11:00 pm 2. Making of noise after curfew hours 3. Absent in school without valid reason 4. Not securing “Going out Form”.

Section 4: DEMERIT OF TWO (2) POINTS:

1. Letting outsiders to sleep over in the dormitory without permission. 2. Using other personal things without permission to the owner. 3. Eating of foods of other without permission.

Section 5: DEMERIT OF ONE (1) POINT:

1. Wearing of Shoes and Slippers upstairs and inside their room. 2. Not turning off the air-con, lights and faucet. 3. Singing loudly and shouting 4. Turning on speakers very loud 5. Breaking rules related to public places, i.e. computer room, resting and reading places. 6. Bringing pets in the dormitory. 7. Not informing the dorm parent that he/she will not eat in the cafeteria ahead of time.

TERMINATION AND EXPULSION FROM SCHOOL DORMS

1. Smoking or drinking alcoholic drink in the dorm, around the dorms, or on any property regardless if it is at Noblesse International School or Dorm locations.

2. Returning after curfew hours or very late from time indicated on their going out form.

ARTICLE XIX

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DORMITORY PARENTS

1. Responsible for making of reports, eg. every day/incident reports. 2. Supervise the home-life of the dormitory students. 3. Check and Monitor student’s meal always. 4. Provide activities or work schedule for students. 5. Discipline students when necessary. 6. Provides counseling if it needs. 7. Facilitating meeting among students every week or upon emergency. 8. Checking tutor’s schedules and monitoring tutor’s class. 9. Monitoring visitor’s logbook. 10. Checking of Students school activities and attendance as well. 11. Providing necessary forms to dormitory students such as follow:

a. Going – Out Form b. Allowance Form c. Demerit Form d. Endorsement form

12. Making of reports of daily happenings, incidents and evaluations. 13. Filing of records and documentations. 14. Attending emergency cases and providing of emergency drugs or first aid if necessary. 15. Getting updated with students’ allowance, tuition fees and emergency funds. 16. Providing of all necessities for dormitory students through sending request to the NIS

office for approval. ARTICLE XX

AGREEMENT I have fully read and understood the contents of this Dormitory Manual of the Noblesse International School.
