Vera’s Impact:• Vera Vietor left us her home and property in her trust

• Humboldt Area Foundation was established

• The initial gift was $2.4 million

• Cumulative gifts from her fund: $6 million

• Current fund balance: $4 million

• Major gift to build new St. Joseph’s Hospital Tower

The Leavey Impact:• Gave his family’s 240 acre ranch in Blue Lake, CA to the foundation

• Left a $3 million endowment to hold and operate the ranch, develop research and others

• Ranch to be used by HSU and other students to conduct hands on fish, wildlife, agricultural and forestry research
