Laubenberg cut school funding.
She voted against teacher raises.
Moderate Republicans have been driven out as the Tea Party pushes extreme anti-education policies.
Policies Laubenberg supports.
Bennett Ratliff, one such defeated Republican, recently said:
“We lost a lot of good public education supporters…
It does not bode well for public education in the
Texas House.”

How can we afford to fund schools when our property taxes are already so high?
Republicans have shifted the tax burden from commercial to residential property.
The residential share of the total tax burden has increased from 42% in 1998 to over 50% today.
Costing Texas, and our schools, over $4Billion
in just the last 5 years.
They get the breaks: You pay the bills.
And our schools suffer.
Sameena will fight corruption and cronyism and restore tax fairness.
In Texas, women earn 79.1% of what men earn doing the same work.
Laubenberg opposed legislation requiring equal pay for women.
Sameena will fight for equal pay for women.
Laubenberg prohibited LGBT centers

Sameena will protect our state’s natural
resources, including its wildlife and wild spaces.
Laubenberg voted to ban enforcement of federal firearm laws, including - background checks, - magazine capacity limits, and

Sameena supports responsible gun ownership.
She believes that background checks are consistent with Second Amendment rights.
Laubenberg voted for a “Stand Your Ground” law
drafted by the NRA and ALEC.
(making Trayvon Martin-style “shoot, don’t avoid” the law of the land)
Laubenberg Supporters
Sameena agrees with police, who warn against
measures that encourage armed
“vigilantes.”
Laubenberg voted to deny health care to poor children,
but gave businesses tax breaks instead.
Texas has the highest rate of uninsured in the nation.
Texas has more uninsured children than any other state.
Almost 1 in 5 Texans live in Poverty.
(0ver 1 in 4 children)
Sameena believes that good government must
reach out to lend a hand to those in need.
Laubenberg voted to block community outreach
- designed to make sure that the parents of poor children understood the health care
that Texas does provide.
You read that right:
Laubenberg voted to keep the parents of poor,
sick children from finding out about
available health care coverage

Laubenberg opposes Medicaid expansion in Texas.
In Laubenberg’s Texas, attacking “Obamacare” is more important than
health care coverage
for 1.5 million Texans.
Grandstanding against the ACA’s Medicaid expansion, Laubenberg will cost us:
$8B per year in 2014/2015
$10B-$15B per year in 2016/2017
This isn’t “fiscal conservatism”, or “fiscal
responsibility”.
This is just wrong.
Sameena supports Medicaid expansion
under the ACA.
Sameena wants Texans to have healthcare coverage.
Coverage that we are already paying to fund.
Laubenberg and ALEC don’t just oppose the
ACA.
Laubenberg voted for an ALEC-sponsored “health care compact”
that would allow Texas to control (and deny) federal health care benefits to
children, veterans, the disabled, seniors, and the middle class!
Haven’t heard about this?
That’s because, to become effective, such compacts
require Federal approval.
If Republicans were to regain control of Congress and the Presidency,
Laubenberg might control Medicare,
Medicaid and disbursements from
other federal programs.
This model ALEC legislation was drafted by …
Ted CruzWhile he worked to shut down federal health care reform for
the Texas Public Policy
Foundation
Cruz moved on to the Senate, and
shut down our government.
ALEC took his health care compact and hopes to shut down federal health care.
Like ALEC, the TPPF continues to work against:
healthcare, public schools, andthe environment.
Its largest corporate funder is Koch Industries Inc.

Laubenberg supported a Texas version of
Arizona’s infamous anti-immigrant law.
(even when law enforcement and business groups argued
against it)
Sameena will oppose laws which target or
profile Hispanics and other minorities.
ALEC is responsible for pushing such laws into statehouse after statehouse, including Texas.
ALEC is a non-public, secretive bill-mill that pushes corporate and right-wing interests behind closed doors.
Laubenberg is the Texas State Chair of ALEC,
and follows their orders.

Laubenberg made voting more difficult.
Lacking a birth certificate and with her driver’s license expired, 92-year old Ruby Barber was turned away at
the polls.
“I’ve voted all my life, and not being able to vote – it just breaks
my heart.”
Ruby fought past Laubenberg’s barriers,
and plans to be ready to cast a ballot in the 2016 Presidential
election, “especially when Hillary runs.”

Corruption and cronyism: CPRIT
When Rick Perry needed to quietly defund the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas as public awareness of this multi-million dollar scandal began to grow,
who did he turn to?
Who else?
Jodie Laubenberg
Tea Party candidates swept the recent
Republican primaries.
If elected, they will join Laubenberg
to promote her right wing, anti-government,
ALEC-sponsored agenda.
They promise more guns (including in your child’s classroom).
Laubenberg voted to arm school marshals,
while cutting school funding.
They incite baseless fears
(often with racial and ethnic undertones), and
divert government revenues to corporate
cronies, while
undermining our government.
They believe in guns, not in the people of
