Santa Claus is coming to town! That jolly old elf has several visits scheduled at the Club in December. The Club will host two “Breakfast with Santa” events on Saturday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 16th. Breakfast is served in the Grill starting at 7 a.m. and Santa will be here from 9 to 11 a.m. The popular “Santa Sunday Brunch” is on December 17th. While there will be kid-friendly foods on the buffet, this will also be a “Seafood Sunday”. Professional portrait photographer, Trey Allen, will be on hand at all three of these events to capture those special Christmas memories! Bring the family!December is always a very busy time here at the Club and this year will be no exception. The Annual Pro
Shop Christmas Sale and a “Double Down” Pot of Gold drawing will both be held on Thursday, December 7th! Hayle Garner will be hosting a Kid’s Fun Night in The Kid’s Club from 6 to 8 p.m. Take your dining receipt to the Pro Shop for an additional discount on your purchases. We will draw in the Grill at 7 p.m. for $500 in food & beverage credit. If we don’t have a winner on the first drawing, we will continue to draw until we have a winner for $250 in credit. See additional ads in this edition of Leisure for more information on the Pro Shop Christmas Sale. Don’t miss out on this exciting event! If you have a group from your office or business that would like to get together for a holiday celebration, the Club has just what you are looking for! On Wednesday, December 13th the Club will be hosting our annual Christmas Party Lunch Buffet in Main Dining from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Club and the tables are already beautifully decorated – all you have to do is get your friends and co-workers together for this delicious buffet! Live entertainment will be provided by David Lawson at the baby grand
piano. Call 637-8900 and make your reservation today! A special word of thanks to all of the members who attended the Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, November 21st. There are a lot of exciting plans in store for Crown Colony and Hudson Henderson gave us a small preview of the vision for the future. We will be putting out more information as the strategic plan begins to take shape and timelines are established. We know that you will be as excited as we are about the possibilities. Please watch for email blasts concerning holiday hours at the Club. On behalf of all of us here at Crown Colony, I want to thank all of our members for your support and encouragement this past year. You truly are the reason that we are here! We strive to make every event, every meal and every day a reflection of the feedback and suggestions that we hear from you. We hope that you have a blessed and joyous holiday season this year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us to all of you! See you at the Club!

LGa News by susan Laws
A big congratulations to the illustrious winners of our Babe of Babes tournament this year. Connie Kennedy won Low Gross and Cheryl Faircloth won Low Net. Everyone who participates in this tournament is a monthly winner so these two champions are truly the BEST of the BEST!! We trust you all had a nice Thanksgiving and are geared up for a busy holiday season. Don’t miss the LGA Christmas Luncheon on Wednesday, December 6, at 11:30 am. Beginning at 11:30. Join us for holiday punch and some great food. We will have a very brief business meeting to elect officers. Also, we will honor the most improved golfer and those that had the fewest putts and most chips-ins. The focus of the time is not just the meal, but the opportunity for us to be together for a time of fellowship. Taking time to visit with friends away from our busy lives, is priceless. Please join us. You will also have an opportunity to contribute to a charity. The Salvation Army has been a recipient of your donations and some other organizations. If you have a particular charity you would like for us to make donations to, please feel free to make suggestions. Recently, sixteen of the LGA members have joined to serve the Second Helping effort to get food to those in need. Second Helping along with the Salvation Army may be a possible recipient or any other that you suggest. We want you to have an opportunity to help decide where our contributions are directed. Checks or cash will be delivered to the organization that is selected. Dues may be paid at the luncheon or as usual, can be charged to your account later. Several have talked to someone interested in joining the LGA. Please feel free to invite a guest that is interested in joining the LGA or someone that has been a long time friend of the LGA. Thanks to Mickey and Lin for decorating the Christmas Tree at the Museum of East Texas. It looks fabulous and presents a wonderful image of our club to the rest of the community. As we close out the 2017 golf season, let me take this opportunity, on behalf of the LGA membership, to thank the LGA Executive Board (Mary Virginia Casper, Melissa Abeldt, Gayle Brent, Suzan Knox, Julie Zeagler, Joan Meyer and Mickey Benton) for the outstanding job they do to provide leadership and fun for our special group. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this winter give us some opportunities to get together on the course. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year!

Thank You Note from High School Coach Steve TatumAfter Panther Invitational
Mr. Lentz, I just wanted to send a quick email thanking you and your staff at Crown Colony for hosting such a great high school event. I truly appreciate you working to better high school golf and making such a fabulous course available for use on a Friday/Saturday. The course was in great shape and my kids enjoyed the entire experience. We don’t often head into East Texas and it was nice to face some teams we don’t typically see throughout the year. My two freshman have already told me that they would like to return next year to once again enjoy the great hospitality that Crown Colony displayed. Thank you once again, Coach Steve TatumCP Cavalier Golf
