It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Especially here at the Club! December has traditionally been a very busy month at Crown Colony and this year will be no exception. We storm into December with our “Double Down” Pot of Gold drawing being held in conjunction with the Annual Pro Shop Christmas Sale on Thursday, December 1st. There will be a Kid’s Fun Night in the Ladies Locker Room from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening if you would like to shop and dine while the kids are being entertained. Take your dining receipt to the Pro Shop for an additional 5% off of your purchases. We will draw in the Grill at 7:00 p.m. for $500 in food and beverage credit. If we don’t have a winner, we will draw one more time for $250 in food and beverage credit. If there is not a winner, the regular Pot of Gold game will resume and the drawing will be worth $300 on December 8th! Santa Claus has four visits scheduled

at the Club in December. Santa will be here by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10th for “Breakfast with Santa” in the Grill and then he will be back the next morning on December 11th for the “Santa Sunday Brunch” at 11:00 a.m. Santa makes his third appearance at the Club on Tuesday, December 20th for the “Christmas Cookie Decorating” activity day. Knowing that many of his favorite children will be in town to visit family, Santa has agreed to join us for breakfast on Christmas Eve! He will be in the Grill on Saturday, December 24th starting at 9:00 a.m. We are planning to screen the movie “Polar Express” on both “Breakfast with Santa” events! Pajamas are optional and cookies will be served! Bring your camera! Fun for the entire family! As an added attraction this year, new Club member and professional portrait photographer, Trey Allen, will be set up in the Fireplace Lounge to take family photographs or pictures of your little ones with Santa. Trey will be here on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th. If you have a group from your office or business that would like to get together for a holiday celebration, the Club has just what you are looking for! On Wednesday, December 14th the Club will be hosting our annual Christmas Party Lunch Buffett in Main Dining from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00p.m. The Club and the tables are already beautifully decorated – all you have to do is get your friends and co-workers together for this

delicious buffet! Live entertainment will be provided with David Lawson at the baby grand piano. Call 637-8900 today and reserve your space! On Thursday, December 15th there will be a drawing at 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with our weekly Pot of Gold drawing. Some lucky member is going to win six months of free dues! newS Crown Colony Junior Golf Program would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas. Just a reminder, starting in December we will take a break from the classes. The new junior golf season will start back up at the beginning of March 2017. If your junior golfer is still interested in taking lesson the junior golf program will be setting up times for one on one lessons during the time of December to February. Please contact Cory for more information. The junior golf program is starting to look forward to the New Year. We are looking into a lot of different programs and tournaments for the junior golfers to be a part of next year. We will have the kickoff party the beginning of February to discuss and show all the new programs for the New Year. Congratulations to the newest “Babes” for 2016. The final Babe of Babes competition was held on November 3 and two new champions were crowned. Jan Kingham is the low gross champion and Mary Virginia Casper is the low net winner (photos on page 5). They were each presented with a beautiful crystal trophy as a tribute to their accomplishment. Well done, ladies! The LGA Christmas luncheon will be held on December 7 at noon. We extend an invitation to all members of the LGA, even if you are no longer golfing. We would love to see you and catch up on your activities. There are a number of ladies who have been taking lessons from Ben and Cory, and we would like to invite them to the luncheon. We know that some of you work, but if you do wish to attend, we will see to it that you are served and back at work in a timely manner. A delicious meal has

been planned and we hope to see you there. Reservations are needed and may be made by calling Gayle Brent @ 936-635-3552 or Mary Virginia Casper @ 936-635-0376. There will be a brief meeting to elect officers, but after that, it is eat, drink, and have fun visiting. The Christmas season is in full launch mode now. We anticipate the time of parades, parties, presents, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, packing and delivering food baskets to the less fortunate, the Angel trees, serving food at the shelters, remembering the loss of a loved one, thankful for those who keep us safe each day, our places of worship, our freedom. Let us count our blessings and enjoy this beautiful season.

It is an exciting time for Crown Colony Tennis! It may be cold outside, but the tennis program is heating up. We are in the process of kicking off our Ladies In-House Leagues again at the beginning of February (We’re praying it will be warmer than it was last year at the time). But there is a twist to the Ladies Leagues; not only will they be consistently fun, they will be FREE for all current and past members. So I strongly encourage all of you to please spread the word and get people excited for this If you have any questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me at (903) 721-0042. I would

love to hear from you! There are 24 spots available to be in the league itself, and an unlimited number of “sub” spots if you would rather just play to fill in for someone’s absence.
