Dominated by the peak of the Paris Basin (217m), this tour will show you hilly agriculturalplains, clayey woody mounds, wet zones and brooks.

To discover on the road :

Point 1 :On Marines’ height, park your car at the crossroad of les Hautiers – walk for 100m on the left to reach aviewpoint of Marines and the agricultural plains (south).Cross the wooded mound of Caillouet and discover a viewpoint of le Rosnel (North)

Between point 7 and 8 :Medieval farm of La Laire, secluded on the right side of the road.

Point 11:At Bréançon, there is a parking at the church’s square where the GR1 passes by.

Local heritage :Church Saint Denis :Listed historical monument. It gathers three different architectural styles, on a cruciform plan. Thenave, in a Renaissance style, is composed of three large rectangular spans. It was built between1547 and 1559, under the local lord, René de Bucy. The facade is composed of three abutmentsdecorated of pilasters and ended by buttress. We can see a small niche with a statue of SaintDenis, holding his head in his hands. The bell tower belongs to the flamboyant gothic style. Thechoir of the church, gothic too, is the oldest part of the building, it dates back to the XIIIth century.

Ecce Homo Monumentin the cemetery. This is a small niche placed on a masonry base, and having a mutilated statue ofChrist at the time of his resurrection. Local historical facts :There was a windmill in the past. Built around 1800 by a family of millers called Drain, it wasexploited until 1842 when he was demolished.A local lord, Thibault Frémécourt was nicknamed "The Wolf" in 1232.The Lordship of Frémécourt was bought in 1616 by Nicolas Brûlart Sillery, already Lord of Marines.Since then and until the Revolution, Frémécourt remained in the lap of its powerful neighbor.The Church of Frémécourt, which threatened to fall apart, was hit with a curse by the great Vicarof Pontoise, in 1697, to force the responsible to repair it.
