Surface Tension, Newton’s First Law of Motion , Inertia, Linear Motion, Newton’s Second Law of

Motion, Newton’s third Law of Motion, Impulse, Friction and Inertia, Energy, Conservation of Energy,

Momentum, Conservation of Momentum.

UNIT II: ELECTRICITY & MAGNETISM

Concept of electricity and magnetism, Coulomb’s law, Electrostatics, Magnetostatics, Electromagnetic

Induction. Classification of metals, conductors and semiconductors, Fermi Level, Intrinsic Semiconductor,

Extrinsic Semiconductor, p-n junction, Diodes and types, Rectifier, Transisto.

UNIT III : ATOMIC PHYSICS

Matters, Atoms, Atomic Theory: Atomic Theory by John Dolton, Atomic Theory, Discovery of the

Neutron, Proton, Electron. Oscillations or Vibrations, Simple Harmonic Motion, Damped Harmonic

motion, Superposition of Waves, Reflection and Refraction, Standing Waves and Normal Modes, Beats,

Resonance, Doppler's Effect.
