Listening Skills Identifying Larger Numbers 在听力中，通常数字涉及的内容主要有：年代、

年龄、日期、时间、价格、数量、房号，电话号码、尺寸、大小等。通常听力中不会有太大的数字，一般到千位、万位。如： 3 ， 500—three thousand and five hundred; 12,000—twelve thousand 。但如果在听力中遇到较大的数字，要注意数字的正规写法，从个位数往前，每三位数一个间隔，用逗号分开。特别要注意英汉在数字读法上的不同，英语中千（ thousand ），百万（ million ），十亿（ billion ），无专门表示万，十万，千万和亿的词。细心点可发现，这三个词正好符合中间逗号的位置。因此，正确听写数字的方法为：

1 、听到英语数字，特别是较大的，不能把它翻译为中文，否则速度较慢，易出错。

2 、听到什么数字，就写什么数字。听到千（ thousand ），百万（ million ），十亿（ billion ）三词中的任何一个，即标上（，），每个逗号后必须有三个数字，缺位数补零。
