Mr. Palmer
C.E.O.
Born Larnell Palmer II on March 15, Larnell was raised on the South
side of Chicago in an area plagued by drug infestation, gangs and gun
violence that is presently referred to today by many across the nation
as ”Chi-Raq”. Raised by two strong parents that were determined to
see their son outgrow his surroundings, Larnell turned to rap music at
a very early age in an attempt to channel his talent in a more positive
direction and to escape the poverty that surrounded him.
At the age of thirteen, he began writing his own lyrics and performing
for locals, gaining many loyal followers. In 1999, under former alias,
Black Majik, he joined the group Soldiers of War. Collectively, the
group’s self-titled debut album sold more than 100,000 copies in
Chicago alone.
Recognizing his passion for writing, his gift of creativity and his
hunger for individualism, he shed the shadow of being a group
member and set out on the journey of establishing a name for himself.
This new persona came with a new name, “Black Kadafi” as well as a
new vision: Success.
From 2002-2013, he has worked hard to make a name for himself. Mr. Palmer
aka Black Kadafi went on to experiment with writing, producing, managing
and performing. Merging jaw dropping lyrics with hot new tracks, Black
Kadafi knew there was no place to go from here but up. With musical
influences from artists to include Master P, Scarface and J Prince, Black
Kadafi expanded his musical roots by producing and starring in videos
currently showcased on social media circuits such as “Youtube” that have
been viewed by tens of thousands of people from around the world. From
hardcore Hip Hop rap to the creation of a fun rap song for kids entitled:
Chicken Nugget in which his daughter Bailey is featured, Black Kadafi
definitely brings versatility to the music game.
With over hundreds of group and solo performances under his belt, Black
Kadafi who has always aspired to achieve more, dedicates his free time to
dreaming outside the box. Performing at venues to include: The Congress
Theatre, Adrianna’s, The Harold Washington Cultural Center, Subterranean,
The Metro, The Double Door, Columbia College and even an audition at The
Apollo Theatre in New York there is no stopping this new and upcoming
determined artist. Performances, both local and on the road, Black Kadafi has
opened for artist to include: Yo Gotti, YG, Too Short, Pit Bull, Mobb
Deep, King Louie, Lil Dirk, Trina, Trick Daddy, Lil Flip, Sicko Mobb,
Twista, Do or Die, East Side Boyz and many others.
Yearning to find the missing piece to the puzzle that once complete,
will depict his masterpiece, in 2006, Black Kadafi returned to school
to learn the business aspect of music. After attending both Columbia
College and Lewis University in 2008, he went on graduate from
Northwestern Business College with a Certificate in Business
Administration. Using this newly acquired knowledge to redefine his
path to success, in 2013 Black Kadafi recently underwent another
phase of his lyrical genius metamorphosis, shedding the hardcore
Hip Hop appearance for a businessman persona. This new brand
includes a new name. Please welcome: Mr. Palmer. Delivery of these
hot, razor sharp lyrics in a suit is sure to surprise many. This new
stage savvy combination of jaw dropping lyrics, hardcore tracks
delivered with an electrifying stage performance is sure to make the
crowds continue to return for more.
In 2014, Mr. Palmer incorporated and became CEO of his own
independent label: Do4Self Records where he currently has
eight hot new artists working independently and collaboratively
to bring the heat to the music arena. Do4Self Records recently
launched its new clothing line: ButtaFly Jeans which he hopes
