Page 38: DO NOW V: 0 MondayAnswer on your “Do Now” page. Date DO NOW Answer Your DO NOW should be in complete sentences, detailed, and thorough. MONDAY 01/12 Five.

What is wind?Wind is air in motion.

How is wind made?It is produced by the uneven heating of the earth’s surface by the sun.

Page 39: DO NOW V: 0 MondayAnswer on your “Do Now” page. Date DO NOW Answer Your DO NOW should be in complete sentences, detailed, and thorough. MONDAY 01/12 Five.

What causes the wind to blow?

1. As the sun warms the Earth's surface, the atmosphere warms too.

2. Some parts of the Earth receive direct rays from the sun all year and are always warm.

3. Other places receive indirect rays, so the climate is colder.

4. Warm air, which weighs less than cold air, rises.5. Then cool air moves in and replaces the rising

warm air. 6. This movement of air is what makes the wind

blow.
