Career Interest Survey

Objective: To locate, analyze, and apply career information using print and online resources. They’ll also gather preliminary education and training information specific to their chosen careers.

Career Clusters

• Getting an appropriate education and training is needed to be competent and competitive in your chosen career.

• However, it takes a lot of time and money to do so.

• Preparing for a career that doesn’t match your goals and personality is very costly.

• This will take a TON of time to do, but it will be the most productive time you’ll spend in relation to your future happiness.

• People spend more than 50% of their waking time working which will continue for 40 years!

• Having a career that matches your personality, dreams, life goals, and interests is PRICELESS!

• The US Department of Labor has outlined 16 Career Clusters that, “Encompass virtually all occupations from entry through professional levels.”

• You will be doing research on careers using a website called, O*NET.

clusters.• Jobs have certain things in common.• By investigating the groups that appeal to you most,

you may come up with quite a number of possible careers.
