Decoder FunctionalityThe DM-NVX-D30 is a basic decoder that receives a signalfrom a DM NVX encoder and feeds it to a local display devicevia the HDMI output The DM-NVX-D30 can quickly and easilyswitch among multiple encoders on the network Compatiblewith DM NVX products that can function as encoders theDM-NVX-D30 can be used in any DM NVX network AV design

NOTE The HDMI output does not support video scaling

Image PreviewImage preview provides still images (thumbnails) that showthe current video being displayed by an output of a DM NVXdecoder Still images are shown at one frame per secondImage preview supports the maximum resolution of thesource and scales the image while maintaining the aspectratio Images can be previewed in the DM NVX web interfaceand accessed remotely using a web browser The images canalso be previewed on a Crestron touch screen or third-partyinterface

Background Image for On-Screen DisplayAn image can be uploaded to the DM-NVX-D30 for use as abackground image on a display whenever active video contentis not being displayed Supported image file types are jpegjpg and png The supported maximum resolution of an imageis 3840x2160 pixels Up to 20 image files can be uploaded for atotal storage capacity of up to 100 MB

Analog Audio De-embeddingThe analog audio output provides a stereo line-level signal tofeed a local sound system or sound bar The output volume isadjustable via a control system or web browser3

71 Surround Sound AudioDM NVX technology supports the lossless transport of 71surround sound audio signals including Dolbyreg TrueHD DolbyAtmosreg DTS HDreg DTSXreg and uncompressed linear PCM

AES67 Audio Embedding or De-embeddingAES67 support allows the selected audio source to betransmitted as a 2-channel AES67 source while another2-channel AES67 audio stream is received from a CrestronDSP or other third-party device and combined with the videosignal The received AES67 audio stream can be combinedwith the video and then output via the HDMI output andanalog audio output

NOTE An AES67 stream that is received by a DM NVXendpoint cannot be transmitted from that endpoint

Copper Ethernet ConnectivityThe DM-NVX-D30 includes one RJ-45 1000BASE-TEthernet port2 The port is PoE+ compliant allowing thedevice to be powered via a PoE+ Ethernet switch4 Forinformation about network requirements and guidelines referto the DM NVX AV-over-IP System Design Guide Doc 7977

Automatic Point-to-Point ConnectivityPoint-to-point connectivity enables the DM-NVX-D30 to beconnected directly to a DM NVX encoder to stream video andaudio Rather than being connected to an Ethernet switch the1000BASE-T Ethernet port of the decoder is connecteddirectly to a 1000BASE-T port of an encoder By defaultpoint-to-point mode is enabled and can be disabled if desiredWhen point-to-point mode is enabled no additionalconfiguration is required for the DM-NVX-D30 to operate inpoint-to-point mode

Device ControlThe DM-NVX-D30 includes built-in COM (RS-232) and IR portsfor control of display devices under the management of acontrol system Additional control capability is provided byCEC (Consumer Electronics Control) over the HDMIconnection Under the management of a control system theDM-NVX-D30 can control the display device via CECpotentially eliminating the need for dedicated serial cables orIR emitters

The COM port IR port and CEC over the HDMI output canalso enable the display device to be turned on or offautomatically without the use of a control system

Web-Based SetupSetup of the DM-NVX-D30 is accomplished by using a webbrowser Full control and monitoring of the device is enabledthrough integration with a control system or with aDM NVX Directortrade virtual switching appliance
