Although the heat of summer is upon us, I’m sure you’ll feel energized after reading this in-spirational and informative issue of DJ. From the intrepid group of Saudi women who tackled the
frozen slopes of Mt. Everest in the name of conquer-ing breast cancer to the talented Saudi women artists showcasing their creations in Jeddah – it’s clear that Saudi women are a force to be reckoned with!
Summer is the time to eat light, so take our handy ‘Guide to the Fish of the Red Sea’ to the fish market and sample some of Jeddah’s delicacies. Or enjoy a tall, cooling drink cocktail from one of Jeddah’s many watering holes listed in our ‘Summer Drinks’ section…the tropical tastes and sophisticated concoctions will transport you to the place of your dreams. If you’re saving up for a holiday abroad, then you’ll welcome our ‘Cheap Eats Under 20SR’. Who knows, you may rediscover some old favorites which remind you of your student days. Our Travel section continues to offer travel tips and handy ad-vice for travellers of all ages (teens – there’s a story especially for you!) And if you’re staying in town for the summer months, visit some of Jeddah’s beach resorts which DJ has reviewed for you in advance. It’s a tough job…but DJ staff have braved the sun and the sand and the surf to bring you the hidden coastal gems.
Once again, I continue to marvel at all the many activities and sights which Jeddah has to offer. Some-times I worry that DJ may run out of topics…but the people, the places, and the sheer diversity of Jeddah never fails to surprise me. I’m honored to call this city by the sea my home.

Congratulations for being a part of such a culturally informative and enriching circulation! I would also like to thank you for featuring the Annual Bride Show from which my friends’ sculpture / installation was photo-featured at the bottom left corner of the page. My friend, Mr. Cris Gentica was the designer / sculptor of the piece and was not aware that the photo was featured in your article. We practically whooped with joy and pride over this news when I told him.
Thank you again.

Thumbs Up to...
There has been a lot of construction throughout the whole city lately and it is causing a lot of disruption and traffic, however we’re all really excited and optimistic about the improvements to Jeddah’s urban infrastructure. Plans for the Corniche are coming along that will definitely reinvigorate the cityscape. The success of the bridge on Sari St. has motivated the creation of more bridges to decrease traffic. And some of the annoying There has been a lot of construction throughout the whole city lately and it is causing a lot of disruption and traffic, however we’re all really excited and optimistic about the improvements to Jeddah’s urban infrastructure. A downside to all of the construction happening around town is that residents and business owners haven’t been notified beforehand of construction happening right in front of their homes or businesses.
Some have reported waking up to a deep hole in front of their house which they have to jump over - inconvenient for children and the elderly. There are also businesses being forced to close down indefinitely and are in possible financial
danger due to the inconvenience to their clients.
In these situations, there are people and factors to consider so the necessary steps can be taken. We suggest a letter sent to the homes, or a private call to the business owner, or at least a few signs around the designated area. Even though these developments are for the benefit of the community, what’s the point when we can’t consider each other’s real needs?
When landing in Jeddah, we must go down a flight of stairs with the engines still roaring and ride the airside bus to take us to the terminal, and we must do the same thing when we board. Why does it seem like we’re the only airport in the world that still does this? What’s wrong with the comfortable passenger boarding bridge? On top of that, sometimes the bus ride to the airplane takes way too long. Some travelers have reported being on the bus for 20 minutes! Maybe it’s because of expenses, or it’s because of the layout of the airport, whatever it is - it’s definitely a thumb’s down!

MISK A New Marketing Concept
There are well-established moguls in the marketing business – companies whose names are engraved so deeply in the marketing arena that emerging businesses traditionally find it problematic to establish a toehold themselves. But then along came Misk…a small business which is growing at the speed of light.
Misk is a local, passionate business/brand development boutique, owned by Nouf Masoud, a young Saudi entrepreneur. After finishing her Masters in the Us, she decided to head back home and settle in Jeddah. Her father presented her with a small marketing company as a welcome home gift - she decided to name it Misk (the Arabic word for musk), in order to stay related to her Arabian roots.
Nouf studied the market and decided to do something unique that nobody else does; she initiated a new concept that aims to help young, local entrepreneurs like herself. Misk targets young businesses that can’t afford to have a large marketing consultation agency or an in-house marketing department. Her business model is to offer a rechargeable membership card that provides different amounts of hours; you can use those working hours to have a range of services that your brand can benefit from at any stage. for example, designing your business cards will take six hours; those six hours will be deducted from your total hours’ subscription.
Misk also offers a brilliant service, a timeshare designing studio that can be rented. It’s a way to have all your designing work done by professional designers. The design studio membership is for a lifetime, and you can always pass this service on to any of your acquaintances who need to have something designed for their businesses.
“We work across all communications disciplines - we believe that to build strong brands, you need to deliver a consistent brand experience.” says Nouf. “We are in the business of everyone’s business.”
BRAND REVOLUTIONAn innovative brand-marketing consultant, an energetic businessman striving for change, and international author are some of the ways to describe Said Aghil Baaghil. His published work includes Eccentric Marketing, The Power of Belonging and his latest, Brand Revolution. With the subtitle, ‘Ousting old Mideast trading mindsets,’ Brand Revolution reveals the role and influence of regional brands during the revolutionary events happening throughout the Middle East.
Inspired by the events of the Arab spring, baaghil examines the way we market goods and services and how it could result as a shift in the commercial world that ultimately affects the community. baaghil proposes that taking hold of our brands and how they’re marketed would result in a new generation of leaders who can lead regional brands to a higher standard. The consultant tackles some of the common flaws found in businesses in the Middle East, such as favoritism that disregards merit and the pervasiveness of corruption. baaghil also shares his ideas on how a business can thrive in this globalized world by examining successful world markets and adding his own creative input.
baaghil holds a unique perspective that’s a possible solution to some of our economic woes. As a consultant, he focuses on the brand essence and the design prototype to create an innovative and all-encompassing marketing strategy. baghil has had local and international success, but is now moving towards a bigger challenge. With brand Revolution, baghil shares with his readers what it means to have a successful brand in the Middle East today.

Every country has its own traditions when it comes to street fairs, charity events, and bazaars… but Jeddah’s Taibah Bazaar is unique. It not only showcases original art and designs from talented Saudi and GCC designers, but the income generated from booth rentals is earmarked for a Madinah charity which supports orphans, widows, and divorcees. Ramadan shopping isn’t complete without a visit to this famous destination event!
Taibah Charity foundation launched its 13th annual two-day bazaar at the Jeddah Hilton on May 13th, 2012. Princess Hana bint Abdullah created the foundation in Madinah for the benefit of a segment of society which had previously been overlooked by other charities: orphans, widows, and divorcees. The charity funds its Madinah operations through the proceeds of the Taibah bazaar. The bazaar showcases the latest fashions in abayas, dresses, thobes and the arts. Jeddahwis herald this event as the beginning of the Ramadan shopping season – they discover unique, one-of-a-kind creations to wear during Ramadan and Eid. The bazaar includes the latest trends in traditional fashion as well as international styles from around the world. Aside from
all the merchandise found there, the charity value encourages people to participate and spend as they are aware that their purchases encourage vendors to take part each year. The members all pay an annual fee, but true profit is made through this two-day bazaar. Until now, housing and subsistence has been provided for almost 2,000 orphans and 1,000 widows. Income is generated from booths rented out to famous designers, bakers and artists who sell their work to the elite crowd who visit the bazaar every year.
Taibah bazaar attracts the crème de la crème of the Jeddah society who welcome this annual opportunity to give back to the needier members of society. Taibah bazaar holds a special place in the calendar because of its charitable value and its unique collection of merchandise.

“When we finally held up our Saudi national flag at the Base Camp on Mount Everest, it was the most rewarding moment of the entire trip,” said Lina Al Maeena, one of the ten women who climbed Mount Everest to support the Saudi Women’s Breast Cancer campaign on the 7th of May.
Princess Reema bint bandar bin sultan Alsaud organized the 14-day trip in collaboration with the ‘Zahra breast Cancer Association’. “I believe the reason that Princess Reema chose Mount Everest was because she felt it perfectly symbolizes the emotional and physical struggles that women with this disease go through during their battle. She felt it was the ideal way of showing our support and giving them the hope they need,”said Al Maeena.
None of the participants had any personal experience with breast cancer but they each have their own connections with individuals who have survived or have lost their battle
with the illness. Therefore they have each dedicated their journey to them. It took the women six months to prepare for the trip by going through all sorts of training, however they were still accompanied by a professional.
“The most difficult decision I had to make was to leave my husband and children” explained Al Maeena, “However when we finally reached the hardest part of the entire climb, which was the Base Camp at the last day of the trip, I had to fight off nausea, shortness breath, dehydration and cold by finding the focus to think about my

family’s sacrifice as well as the incredible efforts of my supportive team and the people I have dedicated this climb to. It was then that I found myself not being able to let them all down and gave myself the motivation to go on until the end.”
Many people have yet to comprehend the meaning behind the entire event and Al Maeena doesn’t blame them for that, she believes that if a person doesn’t see and experience something themselves, they will never truly grasp the idea.
The campaign has not only raised over 300,000 Riyals so far, but has also gained from both negative and positive feedback the large scaled awareness about breast cancer that they mainly aimed for. They needed people to understand that physical fitness can not only help prevent breast cancer but can also play a major role in fighting the unfortunate illness. In addition, the trip overall had brought together a very interesting group of saudi women from all over the region, united by the love for their country and their strong belief in the cause.

WINNING MOMENTS A BRIEF HISTORYA BRIEF HISTORYThe UEFA European Football Championship is the main football competition of the men’s national football teams governed by UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations). It has been held every four years since 1960.
The championship was originally called the UEFA European Nations Cup and changed to the current name in 1968. Since 1996, it became referred to as ‘Euro’ followed by the year of the tournament.
In 1996 the tournament expanded to 16 teams.
Before 1980, only four teams qualified for the final tournament. Since then, eight teams are qualified to compete.
Newcastle United FC’s Malcolm MacDonald scored all five goals as England beat Cyprus 5-0 in a Group 1 qualifier on 16 April 1975, creating a new record for his nation.

In Destination Jeddah, we always encourage our readers to go on an adventure within the country to learn and love more of it. Each ‘Explore KSA’ section of the magazine features either a mysterious cave, or a hidden valley or forgotten ruins waiting to be explored. The best part is, there’s something for everyone; athletes, photographers, history enthusiasts… So if you find yourself with enough free time this summer, gather a large group of friends and family, and get out there for a completely new experience. There’s nothing stopping you from having an adventure close to home.
[Om Jersan Cave] Fulfill the fantasy of exploring an enormous dark and mysterious cave! 204km Northeast of Medinah is the largest lava tube cave in the Middle East. People used to inhabit this cold cave, so be an archeologist for a day and inspect the engravings on the wall and ancient hidden bones!
[Lajab Valley] In the Eastern part of Al-Qahar Mountain, 700km south of Jeddah, is the magnificent Lajab Valley. A spring flows north and the plant life is stunningly lush and unique. The valley is a beautifully secluded passage that’s unlike most areas in the country and is definitely worth a visit.

[Al Shagga Valley] Unlike Lajab, Al Shagga is more of a low fresh water marsh and has beautiful lush greenery with small waterfalls and ponds. It’s great for a day’s visit or even camping. It also has an incredibly diverse wildlife with many types of birds. Al Shagga is easily accessible - 280km South of Jeddah. And because of the rain, the valley looks completely different with each visit!
[Hadda] Hadda is an abandoned small town scattered with beautiful ruins. The town used to be a major stopping point for caravans traveling between Makkah and Jeddah due to its water resources. Wells from the 15th century are still standing, possibly built by the Turkish and also the Al Saud wells along with a ruined mosque. Reach Hadda by going through the Bahra exit towards Makkah.
[Abha] Take in one of Saudi’s breathtaking landscapes with a cable car ride and enjoy the spectacular view of misty mountains surrounding dense pristine forests. Visit homes made of mud and stone which date back to 300 years ago. Check out Al Habala village that was built against a mountain. Abha has the highest peak in Saudi - the Black Mountain at 3.3km high.

No costs or registration required and no long drives - a decent price for some thrilling tomfoolery.
[Al-Lith Island] Al-Lith is a beautifully secluded island that’s part of the Farasan Banks chain surrounded by crystal clear blue waters and fine white sand beaches that are perfect to camp on with a bonfire. It’s only a 2 hour drive south of Jeddah followed by a short boat ride. On your way, you can catch a glimpse of several exotic reef islands inhabited by barracudas, manta rays, tiger sharks and sometimes dolphins.
[Masturah] Just a 2 hour drive North-East of Jeddah, you can swim in beautifully clear blue waters surrounded by huge majestic mountains in this secluded treasure of a beach. Go on an overnight camping trip with a big group, build a bonfire and enjoy the Red Sea waters in a completely new way. GPS: 23°07 N 38°50 E

Al Far’a is great stop for travelers interested in history.

The Gallery is also a new place for artists to grow and improve their skills. There’s a multimedia library, art and literary workshops and lectures on art history, color techniques and much more. The gallery’s goal is to encourage and enliven Saudi’s contemporary art community.
[2] World Renowned Glass Blower, Jean Claude Novaro, Comesto JeddahFrench native Jean Claude Novaro is recognized as one of the greatest glass blowers of our time. From May 21st - 25th, Novaro’s talents were brought to Jeddah at a gallery space in Ana Special Mall and showed around 100 of his pieces. At only 14 years old, Novaro was selling small animal figurines to tourists, but now the glass blower has exhibitions worldwide. He also holds the world record for having created the largest hand blown coupe ever made. His style includes creating bright and dark vases with mystifying colorful swirl designs, sometimes with paint inside them. Navaro is also famous for creating new techniques and searching for new ways to stretch the capacity of glass.

Kareem Osman Linjawi is a 44-year old Saudi coach and owner/operator of the youth oriented “Red Sea Football Club.” He’s a certified and passionate coach who has dedicated his time and efforts to enrich the lives of young boys in our community.
D J: When did you start? What about coaching made you decide to do it full time? CKL: I started in 2001, when there was a real need for a place for young boys to enhance their football abilities with proper coaching that was safe for young kids. I decided to do it full time when I saw the positive impact on the lives of the boys and their families.
D J: What are you most concerned about with the kids? What is your goal with them? CKL: I am most concerned about children’s safety and welfare, but I am also concerned about sportsmanship, team spirit, their own confidence and providing a great experience for them with memories that could last a lifetime.
D J: Is it a business or is it non-profit?CKL: It is a business, but making a profit was never the goal. We give the boys the best equipment and facilities. We have never compromised on quality nor will we do so. We started the venture to fill a need and knew if we did things right, the profit will come.
D J:What do you love most about coaching?CKL: Making a positive impact on the lives of kids and doing something that is needed in the community, it’s a way to make sure that the kids are balanced and well-rounded.
D J: What are the ages of the boys you teach? CKL: We start from three years old and we coach all the way to eighteen.
D J: Which are your favorite Saudi and Intl. football teams? CKL: Red Sea Football Club.

D J: What are your favorite sport activities in Jeddah? What other sports do you play?CKL: I love all sports and outdoor activities. I love the sea, I play tennis regularly, I fish, I have fun on the sand dunes in the desert and I also enjoy horses.
D J: What are your top choices for a healthy meal at a restaurant?CKL: For a healthy meal I would probably go with sushi or if I want a steak, I’ll make sure it is grilled like at TGIF.
D J: Best places to buy sports stuff?CKL: I generally get my equipment from the Boghdadia District since all brands are in close proximity there.
D J: Best field to play football on in Jeddah?CKL: The field behind/North of Al-Badria Towers.

Ta’meya (3 SR)Also known as falafel, the ta’meya is one of the most popular Middle Eastern snacks. Each patty is made from fava beans, shaped and deep-fried to golden perfection. They’re then wrapped in a pita with some veggies and drizzled with tahini. This will keep you full for hours - and all for 3 riyals! Just like shawarmas, these are available on most busy streets.
From the slice of pizza in New York to the zaatar mana’esh in Lebanon, every city has its own unique variety of foods that can really stretch your dollar…or in this case, riyal. Whether you are a big shot executive or a broke college student looking for a quick snack, these foods not only offer you sustenance, but are also local favorites that won’t cause a dent in your daily budget. Who says that you have to splurge in order to treat yourself? Below are some of the infamous treats that Jeddah has to offer and, as promised, won’t have you secretly crying all the way to the bank either, because you won’t need anything more than a 20-riyal bill.

Balilah (3 SR)While taking a walk along the Corniche; other than the kiosks offering various treats, you are sure to come across one that sells balilah. It’s warm chickpeas seasoned with cumin and mixed in with pickled veggies. You can enjoy a serving for a few riyals while enjoying the ocean view.
Foul and Tamees (3 SR)Traditionally for breakfast or dinner, foul is definitely as filling and cheap as it gets. Although its preparation varies from region to region, whether wholly soaked in lemon and garlic, or mashed with tomatoes, onions and spices, one thing about this fava bean dish remains the same… it is the food of the people. Foul is a budget-friendly food enjoyed by all.

Mantu / Yaghmush (1 SR)Not in the mood for chicken? The same Bokhari restaurant that serves the rice and roasted chicken also serves minced meat dumplings. Whether crispy and fresh out of the oven or delicately steamed, each piece runs for a riyal. At that price, you can afford to enjoy them even more! DESTINATION JEDDAH 65

Motabag (4 – 6 SR)For a more traditionally Saudi and very tasty meal, we recommend Motabag. It’s dough filled with different ingredients like cheese, beef, bananas or even veggies. It comes in small square pieces and can be found all over the city at any foul and tames joints and most of our local fast food places.
Manageesh (4 – 6 SR)This is a lovely Lebanese tradition made out of bread that comes in different toppings like zaatar spice mix, cheese or labneh. It can be eaten any time of the day or night. You can easily find it at most bakeries.
Kebdah Sandwich (3 – 6 SR)Also for beef lovers who are on a budget, we recommend a kebdah sandwich. Kebdah is tender beef liver seasoned and served on a fresh bakery roll that’s available at most local fast food joints. So while cruising in the car feeling hungry we suggest you stop and try one of Jeddawi’s favorite sandwiches.

Kushari (5 SR)Kushari is a simple yet healthful dish of pasta, rice and lentils widely sold at small Egyptian restaurants and roadside stands. With its full complement of protein and spicy toppings of tomato sauce and crispy fried onions, kushari is often considered the Egyptian national dish. It’s a very tasty, fulfilling, and yet convenient dish.

Joha Shawarma (5 SR)What makes a Joha Corner shawarma so special? There are shawarma joints on every corner, right? For one, it’s served in a loaf not wrapped in a pita, and it is stuffed with a scrumptious beef, tahini and tomato mix, making it uniquely Jeddawi. If you happen to be maneuvering your way through Heraa Street, for less than 5 SR you can enjoy one of these and be left feeling full.

Mashwi (15 SR)For meat lovers who enjoy the Mediterranean flavor, we recommend you try a mashwi platter that has a variety of beef chops, chicken and beef kebabs with pita bread and fries for just 15 SR. It’s a tasty meal that can be found at a lot of local restaurants.
Al-Baik (12 SR)Four pieces of golden fried chicken…creamy garlic sauce…fries. All for a mere 12 riyals. If you need more convincing, then we can’t help you. It’s the pride and joy of Jeddawis. No matter where we are, we long for a taste of the comfort that only Al-Baik can provide...

A Grilled Burger Meal (14 – 16 SR)Who doesn’t enjoy an All-American burger? Grilled burgers have become one of Jeddawi’s favorite meals. Available at Heraa Street’s fast food joints and for less than 16 SR, you can enjoy a full meal of a burger, fries and a soft drink.

Subway Muffins
You’ve GOT
to try..
Another frozen yoghurt place has hit the town! Seems like frozen yoghurt is going to be the new cupcakes business here. Berry Land is a newcomer to Jeddah, coming directly from Los Angeles. It’s still in the soft opening phase, they offer a “Help Yourself” service with larger variety of flavors to pick from, our favorites were the special chocolate cookie flavor and the special peach flavor that had an incredibly natural taste of peaches to it. They also have a nice location and a cute outdoors seating area. It’s totally worth checking out.
Did you try Subway dessert before? Well actually it’s not like they have a dessert menu or something, they have only chocolate muffins and cookies. We’ve tried their chocolate flavored muffins. Though they are packed in plastic wrap they are so fresh and soft. Those tasty muffins scream chocolate; the muffins themselves are soaked in chocolates and are full of chunky intense chocolate chips. We loved the fact that they are cheap and available in all Subway branches. Next time you are there try them out.

One day I found myself lunching alone, soI decided to try the newly opened Italian restaurant‘ Il Piatto’. As I entered the restaurant, a stern-looking, unfriendlywaiter immediately escorted me to mytable – not the greatest beginning. But as soon as I was handed over to another, super-friendly waiter, I completelychanged my mind about the service and looked forward to tasting their menu.
The menu was so impressively diverse that I initially had a hard time deciding what to order; luckily my confusion was put to an end when I glimpsed another, thinner menu featuring the ‘Lunch Special Offer’. The offer was SR39 and consisted of a huge bowl of green house salad ac-companined Caesar dressing, served with garlic bread, with your choice of one of the many pizzas or the fresh pastas as the entree.
You also get a fountain drink and, a home-made gelato with more than 11 different flavors to choose from!
I ordered the Chicken Pesto Penne with adiet soda, with an order of hazelnut gelatoto top off the meal.
My drink, salad and bread arrived in fiveminutes… literally. The salad and bread were both fresh and tasty. After another 10 minutes, the main course followed. To be honest, it was not the best Chicken Pesto I’ve ever tried, but it was certainly above the average and even better than most of the Italian restaurants in town. But I have to admit - it needed lots of seasoning. I added salt and pepper to satisfy my taste buds.
Overall, the food quality was quitegood and the ingredients were fresh. Fi-nally, a large paper cup of hazelnut gelatoarrived at my table. It was so refreshing, rich in flavor, and freshly made, with a silky, smooth consistency.
I was initially surprised to see my gelato served in a paper cup, but I appreciated it later when I couldn’t finish it on the spot, and had the privilege to take it away with me to finish in the car on my way back.
The overall experience was great, I willbe definitely going back to ‘Il Piatto’, butnext time with some friends ,to try one oftheir homemade fresh pizzas baked in anauthentic wood-fired oven.

Have you ever had a flight from hell… that one horrible flight that seemed to never end? It probably included two crying babies, surly airline staff, boring movies, and a seat which didn’t recline. Add in a passenger with recurring airsickness as well as dirty bathrooms…And the memory can keep you grounded for years!
Here’s how to make the experience less miserable – in fact, mastering these travel skills may remind you of the pleasures of travel again. So pack those bags and fly the friendly skies again!
Crucial step to airline happiness – make sure you check in online ASAP in order to nab the best seats. Look for an exit row or an aisle seat so you can stretch your legs. Check the airplane layout as different models have different seat configurations.
Bring a book or an iPad loaded with your favorite Hollywood blockbusters. Sudoku or crossword puzzles are also a good distraction.
Pack an inflatable neck pillow and an eye mask to help you snooze in comfort.
Avoid struggling to squeeze an over-loaded, heavy carry-on into the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Travel light.
Keep your blood circulating and avoid blood clots by walking up and down the aisle, circle your ankles, and stretch your back/ arms while seated.
The air on the plane is dry, so keep your body and skin hydrated with water, water and more water and avoid caffeine.
Avoid checking your watch every five minutes… that will only make the flight seem longer.
Dress comfortablyComfort is KEY. Nothing is worse than sitting through a 15-hour flight in tight, skinny jeans! Pack a pair of sweatpants and a long-sleeve, comfy T-shirt to make on-board relaxing easier.

How to Survivea Long Flight

Summertime means fun, relaxation & more fun. After planning, packing & waiting for your summer vacation to begin you should stop for a second & rethink your planning. Going through your checklist to make sure you have everything you need for your trip should start with your health before your actual fun.
When planning for a trip most of us pack & plan for the fun time we are looking forward to, yet we rarely think of things to prevent us from getting sick. That’s why we recommend paying extra attention to your health before your fun times.
Here at DJ we recommend you rewrite your check list for your summer packing & include a small health kit which will help you survive a long flight & get you through your summer vacation without any mood buzzers.
As we previously recommended, to survive a long flight you just need to master some skills to help you through the flight & take some precautions to guarantee you a germ free trip where you get to enjoy your trip & fly back home safely.
A small health kit could be your savior because it will guarantee you NO-GERMs during your flight or your entire trip. Just
simple products that will help keep your hands, the air around you & the surfaces you touch GERM free.
NO-GERM products are easy & convenient to carry. These small alcohol free products will assure your safety for 2-4 hours after applying them. Whereas other antibacterial alcohol products will stop working once they’re dry. Their effectiveness only lasts for 12 seconds and remains on the skin for 30 seconds tops, which means that you have to reapply them continuously at least three times. With NO-GERM products you can be assured of a sanitized surrounding that will last longer without drying or irritating your skin.

Don’t alienate them, try to include them in your interests and let them know that you want them to have a good time as well.. * Suggest some fun, family activities to show your appreciation to your parents for the expensive holiday.* Keep a journal and share it with your parents as an example of your enthusiasm and involvement.
Make an effort not to fight with your brother or sister, you can work together instead * Volunteer to take your younger siblings to the park or the playground.* Accompany them to a toy store or bookstore.
It would be great to explore on your own and go into any store you like, eat any treat which tempts you, or just lay under the sun in a park…and if you reach a compromise that isn’t exactly what you hoped for – just go along with it and it will increase your chances next time. A: Removing left over nail color can get really frustrating but there are a few tricks you can do to totally get rid of the color. Firstly try soaking your fingers in denture cleanser (which you can pick up from any pharmacy) for about three minutes. The liquids oxidizing agents in the denture cleanser help bleach the nails. For really stubborn stains try applying whitening toothpaste onto the nails. The whitening agents work on nails the same way they do on teeth. Worst case scenario – take a break from polish for a month and use a two-sided buffer once a week to remove stains and restore shine.
Q&AQ: I love changing up my nail polish colors often however when I remove the color I end up having nail polish in the edges of my nails or my nails get stained with color. What is the best way to remove left over nail color on my nails?

Step 1: PrepUse a good body moisturizer when you step out of the shower or before you sleep because dry patchy skin won’t respond well to a faux glow.
Step 2: Exfoliate!Scrub off dead skin cells because applying a fake tan on dry or uneven skin will result in a patchy and uneven looking tan.
Step 3: MoisturizeCover yourself in a good moisturizer, particularly on any areas that get extra dry like your knees, elbows and feet.
Step 4: Protect Wear latex gloves! You can later use small wool pads to apply a bit of tanner on the back of your hands. Also, apply small amounts of Vaseline along your hairline and your brows to protect your hair.
Step 5: BuffYour fake tan will look unbelievably natural with a little extra buffing. Use a buffing mitt to ensure there aren’t any streaks and there’s one solid shade of color.
Step 6: Wear BlackAfter you’re done, wear loose dark clothing to make sure that any initial color that may come off won’t stain your clothing.
Step 7: Polish & ReapplyMaintain a routine of gentle exfoliation and lots of moisturizing. When the color begins to fade don’t hesitate to add a fresh coat.

Other Fake Tanning OptionsIf self-tanners seem too complicated or messy, don’t stress as there are many other options in the market:
Airbrush TanningAirbrush tanning is an easy and effective way to get a healthy looking tan. The sprays temporarily make your skin golden and then provide a color that looks exactly like a natural tan. It lasts for 5-10 days depending on how you maintain it.
This treatment is readily available in Jeddah at most of the salons and generally costs 300SR for the full body.
Bronze Makeup There are some incredible bronzing makeup products available, but the best is Guerlain, as they have mastered bronze foundations, powders and pretty much everything you need to look naturally tanned.
Guerlain is available at Paris Gallery, Sephora, Faces, Gazzaz, Debenhams and Va Va Voom.
How There’s a certain amount of guilt that comes with getting a great suntan. The sun is the #1 cause of wrinkles and can lead to major skin damage. We all love the glow the sun brings to our skin, but once in a while - why not fake it?!
The trick to achieving the perfect fake tan is to make it look natural – so no one is able to tell. This means the right color, no streaks or orange fingers! Follow these easy steps to ensure the most natural fake tan.

Materials:Old clothes, scissors, and a sewing machine.
Method:1. First cut “petal” shapes out of knit scraps in two different sizes. Cut enough petals to go around your neckline overlapping half of each other. About 22 of each of size for a large scooped neck.
2. Lay the larger ones across your neckline overlapping by half. (Don’t skimp on the overlap, you don’t want to see through it when it stretches!)
3. Then pin one smaller petal where the larger petals overlap each other.
4. Now just sew them on with a narrow zigzag stitch and you’re done!
Petal TeesDon’t throw your old clothes away! Reuse the old fabric to make this cute petal tee!

their latest picks – maybe you’ll spot something you have been looking for!
Opera Rose
Joseph Kurashi
Unlike any standard pink acrylic paint or
even combined colors, this is the sexiest color
for the glamorous work of art. It appears before
and after painting to be florescent. Gotta
love Winsor & Newton Galeria for the high
quality. Trendy for the pink-loving ladies in
arts and even fashions; “Pink is the new black!”
FIJI water
Bayan Abuzinadah
The taste is great, and the packaging is so
beautiful that I like to keep it on my bedside tables. It is considered one of the purest water
on the planet and on top of all the price is very reasonable compared to other available imported
natural spring water bottles.

I came across these running shorts one day at H&M and I
fell absolutely in love with them. They are cute, colorful, very
comfortable andaffordable for only 49
SR each. They come in all colors, which I
bought. They are great for working out, I wear a different one each day at
the gym.
H&M Running Shorts
Ice Coffee - Mochachino
Angelic Salha
Mochachino Ice coffee is one of my favorites.
I got hooked on it ever since I tasted the
amazing flavor of coffee it carries. It’s convenient whether
you’re in a rush or just cruising in your car. It’s
cold, which is perfect for our hot weather & it’s not pricey. To me
it’s just addictive.
