FILMING• We have split the filming process into two halves.

We have two separate thought processes: footage that shows a concept, and performance clips. These two sections are split into days. We filmed the band shots over the course of two separate days, and the extra conceptual clips were filmed over four days.

• We both shared the division of footage on all days, taking turns to direct the ideas, allowing for a range of different concepts.

• Alex: had the idea of using his iPhone 6 for slow motion footage due to the high frame rate of 240fps, this helped to achieve dreamy footage of smoke.

• Eddie: Experimented with lights and smoke, arranging the first shot, where the shot is directed into the light, with a microphone in silhouette.

EDITING• Our editing process first involved importing all

footage, to then cut and split clips into usable shots. We then applied a black and white filter to everything initially, having decided this is the atmosphere we wished to convey.

• Alex: Initial cutting of clips with use of the blade tool, and then fine tuning based on our planned concept and idea of the layout.

• Eddie: Placing of clips and timing to music after they have been cut, then fine tuning in relation to our ultimate thought process, along with Alex.

PROPS AND ACQUIRING EQUIPMENT

• Equipment: We purchased a smoke machine, borrowed a GoPro camera and steady cam. We already owned DSLR cameras and tripods so this was not an issue.

• Alex: in charge of first scene, record player : Purchased an AM vinyl, and arranged to borrow a record player from a classmate. Borrowed lighting from school and used to compliment smoke and props.

• Eddie: in charge of band props: could not find a retro style microphone in our budget, and so bought a shower head! A chrome replica of a vintage mic. Also, arranged booking of the Thurston stage and under stage for performance footage.
