NEW Officers Get Ready!

2

It’s that time of year! Have you elected new

officers for your Key Club for next year yet?

Well beginning in February all Key Clubs

should be electing their new officers for the

2011-2012 year. Here are the main positions

to fill: President, Vice President, Secretary,

and Treasurer. Depending on how your Key

Club works, your club can range your officers

from those four positions or add more

including Parliamentarian, Recording and

Minutes Secretary, Sargent at Arms, Club

Editors, or any Committee Leaders.

Remember to have your new officers

elected soon because New Officers Training

is coming up and it will be a great

opportunity to prepare them for next year!

What do they do? President: The President plans, organizes, and carries out the responsibilities of a club leader. They ensure their club and the officers to carry out their duties in service and provide guidance and support to the members. Vice President: The Vice President supports the President and helps out with the plans and anything else the club needs. Secretary: The role of Secretary requires organization skills and to be able to record minutes as well as do monthly reports. Treasurer: Treasurer keeps up with all the financial reports as well as handling the money and budget.

Key Club... TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! Calling All 2011-2012 New Officers and District Board Candidates! It's that time of the year and that means New Officer Training is quickly approaching! The LaMissTenn District is one of the few districts in Key Club International that offers a New Officer Training Conference and this year it is going to be better than ever! A few things have been changed to help YOU, the New Officer or District Board Candidate better your skills! On March 18 and 19, pack a bag and head down to Baton Rouge, LA for an amazing event. You will have the opportunity to talk to others who have held your position and other officers from all over the LaMissTenn District! This year’s New Officer Training theme is: Key Club... To INFINITY AND BEYOND! That's right, it's a Toy Story theme and your district board asks everyone to bring individually wrapped toys to be donated to underprivileged youth. The cost for N.O.T. is $10 per person including room and transportation. Also remember to turn in your contest poster at N.O.T to promote DCON and to enter a chance to have your artwork display. Our PCM is coming up this Saturday and I still

Interested in running for Lt. Governor?

Division 14 will need someone to take my place for the 2011-2012 year since I will be unable to continue being your Lt. Governor after graduation. Being Lt. Governor is a big job, but with hard work and determination, it can be quite rewarding. This job requires someone with enthusiasm and dedication to carry out Division 14 for the LaMissTenn District. You’ll be able to interact with Key Clubs from across the nation and enjoy a leadership experience of a lifetime. I love being LTG and being able to serve and help out with all my Key Clubs and Kiwanis. Please consider taking on the position and it is for all upcoming seniors, juniors, and sophomores. If you have what it takes to be Lt. Governor, then please contact me ASAP so we can go ahead and start preparing you soon! District Convention!

District Convention will be April 15-17 in Natchez, MS! Be prepared because this year’s theme is the “Key Club…The LeaderSHIP of Service!” It is a nautical theme full of cruise ship fun. We will have special International Celebrity guests including International President Xinlei Wang and International Trustee Ashley Williams. There are going to be exciting, informative forums for all you Key Clubbers as well as contests, dances, and district elections. Start fundraising now Key Clubs and set sail on this leadership cruise!

Poster contest!

Registration for DCON poster contest is posted up on the N.O.T registration and winning entries can possibly be used as artwork for the District Convention. Please incorporate the theme for your poster that can include the sights and images of a cruise ship, sailing ship, etc. to promote the excitement of a Key Club Convention. The poster should promote the convention itself and should not include the club name or activities. All entries must be submitted at New Officers Training. I would like for all Key Clubs in Division 14 to participate!
