The term is flying by... I cannot believe semester one is nearly over! I would like this opportunity to thank the staff of Jesmond Public School for their hard work, dedication and positivity to our students and community. This year we have faced many challenges especially during COVID and each time another change was asked of the staff they continued to adjust their teaching to meet the needs of each student in our school. Our non-teaching staff were flexible and demonstrated so much care and commitment to our community. Thank you so much. It is exciting to see so many students coming to school each day, engaging in their learning and following school responsibilities. Each day I am amazed at how resilient and adaptable the children are at Jesmond PS. Their smiles and ability to have a go at any task is commendable. They certainly are persevering with their learning and achieving many successes. Congratulations everyone. I am truly grateful to be part of the Jesmond school community and working with amazing staff and students. Friday Assembly Last Friday, all students participated in a K-2 or Years 3-6 assembly to acknowledge quality work. It was great to view the learning that is happening across stages. I have been visiting classrooms and initiating conversations with students about their learning, specifically focusing on learning goals and mathematic key ideas. Pyjama Day Riley and Evie organised Pyjama Day last Friday and thank you for your support. The school raised $324 to help with the Year 6 farewell at the end of the year. Please read our school leaders recount of the event in this newsletter.
