For the past 12 years, The Summit on Leading Diversity has served as
the nation’s premiere diversity event, playing an integral role in creating
and sustaining inclusive work environments that enable organizations to
operate more effectively.
Now in its 13th year, Linkage is pleased to introduce The Institute for Leading
Diversity & Inclusion™, an advanced learning and development experience
We are delighted to tell you about Linkage’s NEW Institute for Leading Diversity & Inclusion™. We have completely retooled our program based on a decade of research and experience. Now, line leaders and D&I practitioners can join us together to experience a transformative immersion learning program like no other. With an eye on advancing your organization’s capabilities to embed diversity and inclusion know-how into your business, this event offers:
A robust model that links D&I competencies to business results
An individual self-assessment
Peer coaching and action planning
Speakers and curriculum designed to integrate D&I across all business functions
We believe that diversity and inclusion work is as much an art as it is a science. Creating a workforce that represents global communities and ensures an environment where every individual’s contributions are valued is much like creating a masterpiece. We hope you’ll join us in Atlanta next April to explore new ways to drive diversity and inclusion and produce superior results for your organization.

WHY ATTEND?Linkage’s Institute for Leading Diversity & Inclusion™ is an accelerated educational program that enables leaders inside and outside the office of diversity to develop core competencies for effectively recognizing and leveraging diversity and inclusion as a key driver of business results. The Business Impact Diversity and Inclusion Competency Model serves as the basis for the program’s curriculum and is tied to core business strategy. The Institute’s approach to diversity and inclusion is designed to enable leaders from across the organization to contribute to a well-integrated change management process.
THE BUSINESS IMPACT DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION COMPETENCY MODELThe foundation for the Institute experience is the Business Impact Diversity and Inclusion Competency Model. The model, triangulated from research, field observation, and peer focus groups, focuses on business impact rather than HR functions and programs. Each competency incorporates the key skills needed to link diversity and inclusion to top and bottom line business results. The model is uniquely designed to equip leaders inside and outside the office of diversity with the skills and competencies needed to employ an integrated approach to organizational transformation.
The model is the only diversity related competency model that links D&I competencies to business results in a way that has relevance to both diversity practitioners and line leaders.
Cultural competency—Understands complex D&I issues and the connection between workplace and marketplace shifts and business results.
Global intelligence—Understands global cultures, issues, and norms and recognizes and realizes business opportunities on a global scale.
Talent optimization—Ensures programs and policies are equitable and free of disparity. Links diversity throughout the organization to key business differentiators such as agility, marketplace knowledge, problem-solving capability, and innovation.
Change management—Understands and navigates corporate environments. Articulates the full business case, drives culture change, and creates an inclusive work environment that enhances employee engagement and enables all employees to contribute to his/her full potential.
Strategic relationship building—Knowledgeable about internal and external relationships key to accomplishing D&I objectives. Collaborates with other functional teams, external partners, and community leaders.
Inclusive and strategic leadership—Makes connections between ideas and application and negotiates and influences effectively at all levels in the organization. Viewed as a trusted source for advice and council.
“ Excellent! I’ve been a practitioner for over 30 years and even I learned a few new tricks!”
