INTRO FROM YOUR LTG
What’s up, Division 19?
Welcome to the month of
November! It’s hard to believe
we’ve been in school for two
months already! Usually, Key Club
begins to take a backseat to
everyone’s increasingly busy lives.
But, we can’t let this happen,
because, as we all know, there’s
never an off-season for service!
On a more personal note, this
is the time of year that I am
always reminded that many
people do not have the things
that we take for granted: food,
shelter, good health, and so
much more. Thus, I urge you to
hold canned food drives, donate
necessary items to homeless
shelters, and help out at CSH (or
any hospital) as much as you
can.
Inside this issue of “Neepam’s
Newletter,” you will find some
more Holiday Project Ideas and
information on upcoming
Divisional Events and Projects, as
well as information on more
logistical stuff such as Dues
Collection. Remember, keep on
serving, Division 19!

ISSUE VIII, NOVEMBER 2010 2
With the start of November comes
the countdown to the Holidays: not just
Thanksgiving, but also Christmas,
Hanukkah, and Diwali. As we all receive
gifts and spend time with our families in
the comfort of our warm homes, its
important to remember that there are
families out there who struggle to survive,
and that many kids who will not be
getting gifts from their families this year.
Here are some project ideas that your
club can do to sprinkle our holidays with
some service!
1. Hold a clothing drive
Clothing drives are an easy way to
make a huge difference. You can
donate collections to the Salvation
Army.
2. Hold a food drive
Food drives are another easy way
to make a huge difference. Collections
can be donated to your local Soup
Kitchen.
3. Hold a toy drive
This one is always popular during
the holiday season! Toy collections can
really brighten up a child’s holiday
season! You can also collect toys to
donate to CSH.

ISSUE VIII, NOVEMBER 2010 4
As many of you, from November 1st-7th our District celebrated Key Club Week/
Children’s Specialized Hospital Week. In celebration of this Week of Service, two of our very
own clubs held successful Restaurant Nights. Restaurant Nights are events when a percent of
the proceeds from a meal go to a certain cause or club. The Parsippany Key Club held a
Restaurant Night at the TGI Friday’s in Parsippany, while the Montville Key Club held a
Restaurant Night at the Chilli’s in Parsippany.
Of course, clubs can hold Restaurant Nights at any time throughout the year. They are
effective ways to both raise awareness and raise funds for CSH (or whatever project you are
fundraising for). Setting up a Restaurant Night is as simple as 1, 2, 3:
1) Contacting a local restaurant (such as Applebee’s or Friendly’s)
2) Asking to speak to the manager
3) Arranging a date and time to hold your event
Once your club has finalized the details of the Restaurant Night, the most important
thing your club must do is PUBLICIZE. No event can be successful without proper Public
Relations, and Restaurant Nights are no exception! Many restaurants require a flyer for a
person’s meal to be donated towards a charity. Hang these flyers around your school, and
place stacks of them in key locations, like the Cafeteria, the Main Office, and your advisors’s
classroom. Utilize strong K-Family Relations by notifying your local K-Kids, Builders, and Kiwanis
Clubs of the upcoming event. Finally, notify myself and our DIvision’s PR Partner Brian Cheung
(who can be contacted at [email protected] ) to have the information about the
Restaurant Night sent to both our Division and neighboring ones! The sky is the limit when it
comes to Restaurant Nights, so let’s go ahead and reach the stars!
