NAU was 36 years “young” and was known as the Arizona State Teacher’s College at Flagstaff.

The College's a cappella choir, under the direction of Eldon Ardrey, performed in an Easter sunrise service at the rim of the Grand Canyon and is broadcast and heard by millions on NBC.
