Other activities: Towards a Scientific Forum in Multimedia Knowledge Extraction and Analysis
During the first 18 months of K-space the consortium will launch an association similar to the Duch Stichting, German Verein or scientific society. The mission of the Verein or Society is the promotion of Semantic Multimedia Research and Technology, e.g. SMART e.V. The first task within this activity is to produce a plan for the achievement of the scientific forum and draft the guidelines that will govern the forum. This draft guidelines and plan will be produced during the first 6 months.
Liaison to Standards All partners will contribute to dissemination within the standardisation
bodies they are involved in. We will check for K-Space specific work items in standardisation bodies.
For example: we are currently participating in MPEG-21 and JPSearch (JPEG)
