Flemish for “mirror tents,” Spiegeltents were built around 1900 in Belgium for use as traveling dance halls and town fairs. e numerous spiegels, or mirrors, in the tent allowed for dis- creet eye contact between visitors, night owls, heartbreakers and dream chasers. Over the years, Spiegeltents have become a legendary symbol of the wild fin-de-siècle nightlife. Very few of these unique tents survived the test of time, but today they are much loved attractions in Belgium, Holland and Germany. e rich ambiance of mahogany and the sparkles from faceted mirrors provide visitors with a taste of genuine nostalgia. To celebrate the Festival’s 20 th season, the Crested Butte Music Festival Spiegeltent will be nestled in the majestic mountains of Mt. Crested Butte. Crested Butte Opera Studio: e members of the Crested Butte Opera Studio are developing young singers on the verge of emerging into the professional operatic world, and you get to see them first. Frank Vignola Guitar Camp: Now in its second year, the Frank Vignola Guitar Camp will be an exhilarating six days of gypsy jazz jamming, improvisation and instruction. Gender & Families: 53% female and 47% male. 83% are married and 65% attend Festival events with two household members.
Educated: 85% of patrons reported graduating with a college degree or some level of graduate school.
Affluent: 40% reported annual household incomes of $200,000 and up, while 74% reported annual household incomes of over $100,000.
Loyal: 62% of non-local patrons reported traveling to Crested Butte specifically to attend the Festival. 67% of all patrons responded that the Festival is very or extremely important to their summer plans in Crested Butte. 49% reported to attending four or more CBMF seasons, while 28% attended the for the first time, showing growth.
Satisfied: 93% are very or somewhat satisfied with CBMF events and 75% are very likely to attend next summer.
