DISCIPLESHIP ESSENTIALS PASSING THE BATON. HISPANIC DISCIPLESHIP. ROMANIAN DISCIPLESHIP MAY 2016 VOL. #FOUR ISSUE #10 PASSING THE BATON May 22, 2016! 2011-2012-2013-2014-2015-2016! WOW! You are reaching out to others who seek to intentionally grow in their Christian journey to BE disciples and to MAKE disciples. What makes a difference? YOU. It’s time for the handoff. This year we celebrate again those who have completed Discipleship Essentials (“the blue book”). Close to 500 people in our church have completed a quad experience, finding deeper relationships, greater accountability, and intentional growth and purpose in life as a Christian. The word Christian is used only 3 times in the Bible. However, the word disciple is used 362 times! Jesus calls us to be disciples, to take up our cross and follow Him, confessing with our mouths and believing in our heart that Jesus Christ is who He says He is—the Son of God, Savior of the world! That is saving faith, which is much more than verbal assent to a creed. Karen VanZee has shared her story with many new disciples and nearly 10 quads to encourage women as they walk through messy encounters. Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 Don’t Drop the Baton! Contact Claudia Souser to connect women and Jim Moyer ([email protected]) for men. Quads for men and women meet all days at different times, morning, afternoon, evening. Find one that fits you! Your ultimate purpose in life is to be a disciple and to make disciples.
