Out of School Activities
This Community Service Panel was centered on Outcasts United. This was useful because I learned about all of the different ways in which people got involved in the community and the reasons as to why they volunteered.
Common Reading Program Event
I went to a JAMSA meeting for the Diversity Activity. I learned about
Jamaican slang, food, culture, and politics. This was important because I
learned about a different community on campus that I would not have
normally gone to.
Diversity Activity
The fall fair I attended was the Involvement Fair. This was useful
because I found a club I was interested in and I met interesting people
that attempted to teach me how to juggle.
Involvement Fair
I interviewed my CHM 2045 professor, Professor Mitchell. I learned a lot
about where he came from and where he has been. This was important
because I finally introduced myself to my professor.
Faculty Interview
I had an advising appointing with my APK advisor, DeEtta Rhodes.
This was important because I learned about holds on my account and
I planned my schedule for next semester.
Advising Appointment
Our class volunteered at Tacachale Developmental Disability Center on Saturday, September 10th. I helped make popcorn for the residents. This was a valuable experience because I met a bunch of great people who didn’t let life’s setbacks get in their way of having a good time. (I couldn’t get the pictures from the folder on Sakai, I emailed Rachel.)
Service Learning Project
I went to a Tiesto concert. I have a picture of Porter Robinson,
his opening act, because I liked him better.
