Glue System Control provides greater flexibility and glue volume control, reduces the amount of glue required, and reduces tack time. The set-up is operator friendly and requires very little work. COPAR uses a three-way valve that has both glue and water feeding the extruder. The valve can be easily switched for quick and easy clean-up. This method reduces end-of-shift or end-of-day clean-up time to seconds. DIGITAL GLUE SYSTEM CONTROL The glue control system, con- sisting of air and glue filter and air and glue pressure controls is contained in a single win- dowed cabinet. This unit also causes the glue pressure to fol- low changes in speed of the material to be glued. The design of the pressure regulat- ing system prevents over-gluing of a carton after a stop. GLUE PRESSURE CONTROL GLUE PUMP Provides long, reliable service to one or multiple glue systems. Neoprene diaphragms are stan- dard. Teflon diaphragms are offered as an option. The glue pump uses filtered air from the glue pressure control cabinet. No electrical power is required to operate the pump. GLUE APPLICATOR ASSEMBLY Two applicator sub-assem- blies are provided so that top down or bottom up changeover is accom- plished in a matter of less than a minute. Standard applicator heads produce a one inch wide pattern by means of five holes on 1/4" centers. Nine holes on 1/8" centers available on request. Fixed pattern widths to 4": adjustable to 6". Minimizes the problem of boxes sticking together on the inside or extruded glue outside, preventing problems with customers automatic packing machinery. Glue flow stops automati- cally when the machine stops, even when a carton stops under the glue extruder. The DGSC requires less cleanup time. It reduces end- of-shift or end-of-day cleanup time to seconds. There are no parts to remove or soak overnight. The pattern position is main- tained constant regardless of speed changes between 0 and 1800 fpm (550 mpm). The DGSC eliminates com- mon problems such as sling- ing of glue and having trim waste scrape glue off the wheel surface. The amount of glue being applied can be adjusted by the dial on the front operator panel. Once a proper application rate has been selected, the control will automatically adjust the glue pressure to maintain the proper application as the machine speed changes.
