The Stone Roses album is mainly art based with a mixture of graphics as well, with paint spread over the cover and the graphic which is the name ‘The Stone Roses’. The variety of colors all clash with each other, however it allows the album cover to stand out strongly and be noticed. As seen in the complete colour palette, the background colors are very dull and vague, but the layers on top stand out with the yellow allowing the name to be clearly understandable. On the back of the album, a similar concept is adopted because a wide variety of colors is used but this time to make the members of the band stand out with bright colors. It also includes the track list, track durations and legal requirements. The CD disc is quite plain but with the black background, the writing of ‘The Stone Roses’ stands out clearly. The Stone Roses album is mainly art based with a mixture of graphics as well, with paint spread over the cover and the graphic which is the name ‘The Stone Roses’. The variety of colors all clash with each other, however it allows the album cover to stand out strongly and be noticed. This album called 48:13 by Kasabian is purely graphic based with the durations of each track on the front. This cover is very basic which I like because it keeps it simplistic and not too cluttered. The colour scheme is very bright and vibrant which allows it too stand out. This color scheme is carried out throughout the whole of their work involved with this album.

One of the reasons I like this album is because it develops a motif that is very simplistic which gives fans an idea what this particular album looks like and the theme carries on throughout.

The color scheme is continued on the back to create the same motif. The back features all the necessary requirements for an album including the barcode, legal information, record label and track list. The track list is positioned as the same as it was on the front to show the link between the two. The back and front are very simplistic but not minimalistic as I will be aiming for with my digipak.

This album called ‘Yours truly, angry mob’ by the Kaiser Chiefs. I find that the image of the band on the front of the album is very effective as it allows the buyer to know who is producing the music they are listening too. This is something I think that we will adopt in our digipak as we are focusing on a similar genre of music and think it is a very powerful and effective method.

The back of the album produces the conventional track list, barcode and legalities. The back continues with the minimalist theme which indicates that the main focus should be on the front of the album and the back is simply to give information to the audience.

The complete colour palette is relatively dull and plain with a mixture of blacks and greys. This is done to give a minimalist effect however, the image of the band give the desired effect because the main focus is supposed to be on them. The lack of activity on the front also allows the band name to stand out along with the name of the album.
