This Ppt shows what is air handling and what kind of equipments are generally employed for air handling applications and Explain the different terminology related to air handling like pneumatic conveying, central vacuum cleaning, roots blower, roots compressor, vacuum booster, vacuum pump, dust collection, aeration in storage silos, dewatering and air drying. Visit http://www.acmeairequipments.com/company-profile.html to more information about air handling terminology.

An air-handling unit is generally used for circulating and transporting air. It involves the use of squirrel cage blower powered by an AC electric motor to circulate the air. Vanes are used to control the rate at which air flows within. Air handling equipments operate through the principal of circulating and conditioning airflow through cooling, heating and ventilating units. The units are connected to a duct, which distributes air throughout the building unit.

Pneumatic conveying

Pneumatic conveying involves the transfer of powders, particles, granules and other materials through enclosed pipelines. It involves combining different pressures and flow of gases such as nitrogen to make the movement process a success.

Central vacuum cleaning Central vacuum cleaning involves the removal of dirt and debris from buildings. The dust particles are sent through a tubing network installed within the walls to a collection centre. Central vacuum cleaning is done by using a vacuum cleaner.

The cleaner has a power unit permanently fixed and a collection container where dust particles are collected. Inlets are then installed throughout the building attaching power hoses to the vacuum accessories which remove the dust from the building.

Roots blower and compressors Roots blower and compressors operate through complex processes where fluid is pumped with meshing lobes. The fluid is held in pockets surrounding the lobes. From there they are carried to the exhaust.

Most root blowers or compressors are capable of pumping large volumes of but since they cannot achieve maximum compression, most of the time you find the multiples of them with intercoolers.

Vacuum booster Vacuum booster allows air to be sucked out of the booster through the checking valve. This valve is very important since it make sure that even if air leaks, it does not enter the vacuum booster.

Since the booster has to provide enough power for the driver to make several stops in case the engine stops running without losing the braking power.

Vacuum pump

Pneumatic conveying involves the transfer of powders, particles, granules and other materials through enclosed pipelines. It involves combining different pressures and flow of gases such as nitrogen to make the movement process a success.

Dust collection

Dust collection involves the improvement of air quality and safety through removal of dust particles from the air or the environment.

Dust collection is achieved through the principles of capture, convey and then collect with dust collector system. The dust is first captured from its source; it is then conveyed through the ducting system and finally collected.

Aeration in storage silos

Aeration in storage silos is done in order to provide a continuous discharge of materials such as dust particles. This is done through the use bulk materials release systems.

The systems must be designed effectively in order to ensure there is continuous flow so as to provide for proper emptying of the storage facility and reduce the residue materials left in the silos.

Dewatering

Dewatering is the removal of water from solid materials through a process of wet classification, filtration, centrifugation or other separation processes. Dewatering can be done in a construction site, a riverbed or a mine shaft. The process is achieved through pumping or evaporation.

Air-drying

Air-drying is the process through which the amount of steam is decreased from the air by using several methods. The process of air-drying is achieved through various processes, which include lowering the air temperature, heating and ventilation, condensation drying and lastly sorption drying.
