According to the graph presented by the website, I am in fact a highly musical person with low scores in all other aspects of the intelligences. To say that I disagree with this would be an understatement, to say the least. As a magnet senior, leader in various and organisations, and an avid cyclist, I feel that my high musical score is simply an inaccurate representation due to how involved I am with the both marching band and classroom band. I do use music extensively, and have been known to use techniques used to memorize music and conducting patterns to help memorize and learn information by rote in other subjects. Another facet of intelligence that I apparently am lacking in is the interpersonal intelligence. In this, I must once again disagree. Serving as drum major and in leadership roles in other organisations requires working extensively with various different social groups and personalities. This also plays into my disagreement with the surveys assessment of my spatial intelligence. Leading in both marching band and robotics requires extensive spatial intelligence, analysing forms on the field and designs in the workshop for feasibility. From a linguistic standpoint, I once again, must disagree. Top marks in AP Language followed by a perfect score on the AP exam, would, to me at least, indicate that I have a penchant for language. According to the textbook, linguistic puns and humor require rapid processing of words and interpretation of meanings. As Im sure anybody who has ever sat in class with me would readily confirm, puns and alliteration are standard, and frequently groan-inducingly bad. Lastly, I must dispute the surveys assessment of my kinesthetic and natural intelligence. I cycle avidly, both on road and mountain bikes and also participate in marching band. Though marching band is not something that would first come to mind when one thinks of an activity that requires a high level of kinesthetic activity, I freely invite anybody who doubts the athleticism of a marcher to come either perform a 10 minute show with 40 pounds of contrabass bugle on their shoulder or perform an intricate dance then climb on a podium and conduct, an activity that I have previously discussed at great length in this course.
