Dear viewer, For this collection of prints, entitled DIEVAL, I drew inspiration from one of my favorite eras in history: the medieval era. From the pre-existing luscious textiles of the time to the design details found in Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine art, I have extracted shapes and colors that inspire me on a daily basis. These geometric motifs, combined with a deeply rich color palette of jewel tones and gold, are remi- niscent of the highly adorned basilicas, reliquaries and regalia that have transcended time. My intent throughout the designing and editing of this collection was to create beautiful and clean patterns that could be implemented in modern and fash- ionable clothing, interior design/home goods, accessories, and whatever else one’s heart desires. I visualized that any of these could be printed, woven, or executed in an array of different materials. Lastly, most of the yellow values in this collection have been placed to be rendered in a metallic gold for full effect. I believe that this would be the absolute “cherry on top” to make the jewel tones and prints pop. Enjoy!

Dear viewer,

For this collection of prints, entitled DIEVAL, I drew inspiration from one of

my favorite eras in history: the medieval era. From the pre-existing luscious textiles

of the time to the design details found in Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine art, I

have extracted shapes and colors that inspire me on a daily basis. These geometric

motifs, combined with a deeply rich color palette of jewel tones and gold, are remi-

niscent of the highly adorned basilicas, reliquaries and regalia that have transcended

time.

My intent throughout the designing and editing of this collection was to

create beautiful and clean patterns that could be implemented in modern and fash-

ionable clothing, interior design/home goods, accessories, and whatever else one’s

heart desires. I visualized that any of these could be printed, woven, or executed in

an array of different materials. Lastly, most of the yellow values in this collection

have been placed to be rendered in a metallic gold for full effect. I believe that this

would be the absolute “cherry on top” to make the jewel tones and prints pop.

Enjoy!
