- Prospective cohort design

- From early foetal life

- 9.778 mothers and their children, born 2002-2006

- Urban, multi-ethnic population

- Dietary data: 1. early pregnancy 2. postnatal, child 1 year

1. Prenatal dietary data (1)

- FFQ in early pregnancy (median 13,5 weeks)

- Nutritional intake in the prior 3 months

- 293 items*, structured according to meal pattern

- Frequency of consumption, portion size, preparation method, additions

- Average daily nutrient intake, 2006 Dutch food composition table

2. Postnatal child food intake (1)

- FFQ in toddlers (mean; SD age: 14; 2 months)

- Nutritional intake in the prior month

- 211 items*, structured according to meal pattern

- Frequency of consumption, portion size, preparation method, additions

- Average daily nutrient intake, 2006 Dutch food composition table

- N=5088 questionnaires send 3643 eligible (N=2420 Dutch)- Validated against 3d-24h recalls in 14 months old children: ICC ranges between 0.4 and 0.7
