    After Heart Disease

    Metabolic syndrome X is a constellation of metabolic disorders that all result from the primarydisorder of insulin resistance. All the metabolic abnormalities associated with syndrome X canlead to cardiovascular disorders - when present as a group, the risk for cardiovascular diseaseand premature death are very high.

    The characteristic disorders present in metabolic syndrome X include:

    insulin resistance

    hypertension

    abnormalities of blood clotting

    low HDL and high LDL cholesterol levels

    high triglyceride levels

    This is all internal to the body, but what can be easily noticed is the waist its size. The

    paunch(stomach) makes a whole difference in keeping fit.

    So what should be the waist size, find out by applying this below formula.

    Waist

    HipMeasure the waist between diapharm and the waist bone. Measure the hip where its is

    broader. The answer should not be more than 0.85

    Summary:

    Bigger the Waist line ---- Lesser the Life line.

    Normal-------- 18.5 -- 24.9

    Overweight---- 25.0 -- 29.9Obese ---- 30.0 -- 39.9

    Morbid obesity- >40.
