From December 5, 2012 until February 25, 2013, it would appear that Judge Henry Barela conspired with the city Attorney's Office and the ICDA to curtail the liberty of international member of the media, Melissa Balin, through a falsified competency hearing and unconstitutional commitment and forced medication orders for non-violent misdemeanor charges, until June 16, 2013. The Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District is currently reviewing the court transcripts to determine if Judge Barela even had jurisdiction when making his allegedly unconstitutional rulings on December 5, 2012, January 9, 2013, January 31, 2012 and February 25, 2013.

Based on Judge Barela's comments on the bench, would YOU sanction Judge Barela if you were in a position to do so? Should a Judge who thinks that "going to a shrink" means you are crazy, be allowed to adjudicate a defendants' competency in the future? Let us know if you think it is Judge Barela who needs State-ordered therapy to help him get over his prejudices.
