Agnes Jayne Memorial Fund
The Dickinson County Library is pleased to announce the selections for the 2020 Agnes Jayne Memorial Library Fund, which will be on display January 6 through 20 at the Main Branch in Iron Mountain.
This is the 27th year of the memorial fund, and celebrates what would have been Mrs. Jayne’s 108th birthday on January 11. The fund provides library patrons with a variety of romance fiction and large print titles that will be available for check out.
Two selections are from Carrie Lynn Webb, an author with local ties! A full list is published below. The Agnes Jayne Memorial Library Fund was established in 1993. Agnes was born January 11, 1912 in Iron Mountain.
She was a lifelong resident of the city and an Iron Mountain High School graduate. Agnes married Kenneth W. Jayne on January 28, 1931, and they raised four children. Both were prominent members of the community; he worked in business, she in sales. Mrs. Jayne was a devoted library supporter, an avid reader, and a dedicated
volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and being with her many friends. Annual contributions have been made to the Agnes Jayne Memorial Library Fund by her daughter, Mary (Jayne) Erickson
Parrott, in honor of her children, Terri (Erickson) Court, Gary Erickson, and Gregg Erickson; and her five grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua Court, and Colin, Connor, and Caleb Erickson.
