Coarse to very coarse - grained, massive. Feldspar grains commonly 10-20 mm across, rarely to 60 mm, are commonly pale gray, gray - green, occasionally pink in colour. Principal mafic is dark green - black amphibole. Colour of rock is variable, from dark to pale gray. Grain size, texture and colour vary irregularly. Boundaries of varieties are irregular and most commonly gradational, are occasionally sharp.
Commonly carries c. l - 307o variably disseminated sulphides. Sulphides are commonly fine to medium - grained, occasionally are coarse - grained. Sulphides consist of pyrrhotite (magnetic), chalcopyrite, generally lesser pyrite. In some cases, larger blebs of pyrrhotite exhibit irregular, patchy rims of chalcopyrite.
