WHY do people get diabetes at a very young age?
• In old days, people said only old or obese human being are suffering diabetes.

What is diabetes mellitus?
• A chronic condition associated with abnormally high sugar
• Results from either deficiency of or a resistance to insulin-a hormone produced by the pancreas whose function is to lower blood sugar.

Types of diabetes mellitus

• frequent urination• increased thirst and hunger• Blurred vision• Mouth smell of acetone• Weight loss• Hypervelanting• Nausea• Vomiting• Abdominal pain• Kidney failure• Mood swings
Treatment• close dietary management• Exercise at least half an hour a day• use of appropriate medications • wear diabetic shoe and socks• Kidney and pancreas transplant• Consult and follow a doctor’s advise• Stop eating rice or even sweet foods
Prevention
• Exercise regularly• Avoid consuming unhealthy food• Controlling blood pressure, cholesterol and
triglycerides since young• Maintain body weight
