BEST PRACTISE – I

Title of the Practice

Advanced learning and Hands on Training over the CNC machines

Aim:

To enrich the machining and product development skill in addition to the usual theoretical

knowledge

To design and develop various work holding devices (fixtures) to fabricate intricate components.

Concepts of Practice :

To bridge the gap between the expectations of industries in present manufacturing scenario and the

curriculum outdateness.

To enrich the software knowledge like EDGECAM, MASTERCAM to interface with CNC

machines.

The Context

Producing an engineering graduate with bubbling confidence to solve the industrial problems

is the key requirement to any Institution and also to cope with challenging global market by overcoming

the existing curriculum restrictions. Aforesaid vital goal could not be achieved with simple planning. The

designing and implementation of this best practice had encountered few hindrances like preparing

utilization chart for CNC machines for individual student, inventory of precious tool, workpiece etc,

inevitable breakages of tool and wastages of material.

The practice

Various components are being machined in presence of students.

The hindrances in developing fixtures, machining intricate geometry with extreme accuracy are

being exposed to the students, later the students are asked to solve the issue by their own.

Each Hands on training session is being monitored by the individual faculty.

At the end, the students are made to take up one each activity (Design and Development of one

Individual component).

Outcomes of Practice

Students are in the position to discharge their maximum output in the industry at beginning

of day one without any pre-training by the industry.

The student’s employment towards the core specialization has increased.

Problem solving skill and sufficient practical exposure over the advanced CNC machines

builds strong self confidence to the students.

Opportunity of entrepreneur development due to sufficient training to satisfy the current

industrial environment needs.

BEST PRACTISE – II

Title of the Practice

Learning through Demonstration (Working and assembly of Automobile Components).

Aim:

To understand easily the working of various automobile components.

To acquire knowledge about the arrangement of an automobile components.

Outcomes of Practice

Students can easily understand the working of an automobile.

Students show more interest in the subject and highly motivated.

Many students were awarded related to automobile contests (Engine mantling & Dismantling).
