o Funded by Gates and Lumina Foundations through MDC, Inc.

o Five Ohio Community Collegeso Colleges had participated in
Achieve the Dream—national initiative to improved community college outcomes

Why this Focus? o A large number of students need
developmental education. In FY 2008, 90,000 students in the
University System of Ohio are taking some developmental coursework

o Identify and publicize innovative developmental education practices among Ohio community colleges
o Determine need for further research and encourage cross institution research
