First… the border

Like my front cover I decided to put half of a border on the contents page. But this time I decided to put it across the top instead of the bottom, so it looks like an ‘R’ shape. Also like before I decided to keep it blue so that it would match the front cover. And I also kept the border bevel bossed so it looks 3D and stands out.

Like before I then thought about what to put on the border. Because the border is along the top and not along the bottom this time I simply put the title and the logo (again) along the top.

After that I thought about what to put down the side border. I decided t keep the idea of putting text down the side so I thought the only text that is on the page is the page numbers, so I thought I would put them on there.

Second…the titleLike when I was making my front cover, I went through lots of different ideas about what to do on the contents page. Ideas such as fonts, colours, sizes etc

The first thing I thought about was the font. I thought about fonts like Veranda, Tahoma, Rockwell etc. But overall I decided that I would have the font the same as the front cover title font. Times New Roman, size 59.

After this I thought about what colour I would have the title. Like the front cover I didn’t really want to put the contents title in different colours, so I decided to keep it one colour. Because the title is on a blue background I decided to keep it white and put a thin black border around each letter.

Once I had done that I thought to myself that it didn’t stand out enough and you couldn’t see it too well. So I decided to put a glow around the whole thing and because it was on a blue background I thought the obvious choice of colour would be yellow because it stands out and it is one of the colours on the school logo.

Third…the imagesBefore I could even think about what images to put on the contents page, I had to actually take them. Whilst I was taking the pictures I decided to put in the contents about some of the new features into it.

Like when I made my front cover, I looked at it and saw that I had a blank space in the middle. So I thought about which image to put on it and I decided to put an image of the reception. I decided not to put any effect on this particular image because I thought it didn’t need one.

As for the effects on the images I decided to put a thin border on each one but a different colour.

These were the two images I took and decided to useFor the images at the bottom, I

decided I wanted a small background/border around each one. I looked at previous work and found little jigsaw borders so I decided to use them. I decided to make the colours of the logo because they match the border.

Fourth…the textTo start off with, I knew there was going to be quite a lot of text so I thought about that it all really needed to be the same. The first bit of text I did was the masthead (main headline). As shown below you can see that this text was made in Microsoft Word on Wordart. I decided to keep the original idea of blue and yellow but blend them together. For the text in the contents bar (on the right) I decided to make it white with the small border of stars around each one just like the front cover. For the text advertising the brand new features I decided to keep it plain so I went with black (because the colour of the picture background was grey). And for the masthead I decided to keep it with the colours of the logo so I kept it blue (mainly because the background was white).
